This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://www.cfl.ca/2024/08/22/zero-players-fined-from-week-11-one-fined-from-week-10-action
On the season:
7 Saskatchewan
5 Ottawa
5 Edmonton
3 Winnipeg
3 Hamilton
3 Montreal
1 Calgary
Still no in season playing foul fines for BC or Toronto.
This is a ridiculous fine. The call itself was borderline, looked like a player mostly pushed Notree into that “blindside block.” Tacking a fine onto it two weeks later is absurd.
So let me get this straight… Morgan takes out not one but two Cats with dirty ass hits and yet there is no penalty on either call ? Both players wind up getting taken out by ambulance , and both players end up on the 6 gm IL and the league deems that no fine(s) apply ? All I have to say to that is FRO Randy !!!
Sorry but the hits were legal and therefore deserve no fines. It is terrible to see a player removed from the field by ambulance, but lets face it, Football is a very tough , hard hitting sport. All the players and coaches know that injuries are part of the game. That is why the teams have plans for when a player is unable to continue for a period.
I thought the key to the second one was when Matt Dunnigan said “when I used to do what Powell did I used to come to looking at training staff or the inside of an ambulance.”
