So I was browsing YouTube this morning.
And I came across the video. Where a guy suggested we merge with the NFL. As I watched the video I became more and more offended.
Suggesting we drop our rules. And drop the BC lions
They suggested that all the CFL teams will move to the AFC and become AFC Canada West and AFC Canada east

Why would we give up any of our heritage to join the NFL. The Grey Cup would be gone. Our Fields would get smaller. We’d lose the wagall the extra man on the field the field post would move. And we’d lose the Rouge.
I like our game as it is it doesn’t need to change
Not for anybody and especially not for the NFL.
I haven’t watched the video yet, but it does sound ridiculous. There’s no way NFL owners are sharing their massive pot of gold that is their TV revenue with cities that don’t make that pot exponentially bigger.
The answer to your question of why we would want to do this is really quite simple. MONEY!!! If the NFL would have them I can assure you that these CFL owners would go. There’s way too much TV money in the NFL to pass up for anyone with the chance to go. Nostalgia be damned!
I agree its offensive, will never happen, I love Canadian football and like American Football, I like the CFL (People like Chis Jones make me not love it, See discrimination against Tre Ford, because of where he played in university and his Nationality) I appreciate the talent in the NFL, but detest the fake propaganda, as in the treatment of Nathan Rourke, Clearly promosed a fair shot at #2 for the Jags and earned it, but sent packing (NFL can not have a CFLer showing up their premadonas with their huge obsene contracts, or the elite Schools they attended) and Cudos to Jerimia Masoli in his comeback game vs Calgary , There are several QB,s in the CFL as good as Maholms _ Masoli, Ford, Colaros, Fajardo, Rourke, Adams and … IMHO
This is what happens when too many dudes have a YouTube channel, no doubt, which happened all the more during the pandemic.
It was like cable access channels of yore on steroids.
Thankfully, very very few such channels following sports and many other topics have a solid following any more, and most of these dudes are gone or hardly upload a new video any more, for I guess they now have a more engaging job or business to do.
When those in a position of power with capital and means want to do something, certainly they put out feelers to gauge public sentiment and in the case of the NFL, have exhibition games, but they don’t create YouTube videos and the like.
They simply act after making decisions.
The NFL is not going down this road and is already invested in an increase in other international exposure, which we have referenced frequently in the NFL thread on this forum as well.
This video is the fodder akin to that of all those wide-eyed delusional dudes locked in during the pandemic who had all kinds of bright ideas, including those who thought a hub spring football league was a viable concept for expansion or that somehow ChatGPT was going to take over the world in 2023 and even be able to make you your favourite breakfast and serve it to you in bed every morning.
Avoid those bojacks and to fiery hell with them too.
By the end of 2022, once his hub league expansion scheme and his toilet story or toilet joke infiltration ploys did not work out on this forum, oh well it appears that his faith was flushed down the toilet as well and that was that.
Thankfully such pandemic “fun” is gone for good too, such as in those slow and grinding times beyond the forum.
And just like that he reemerges in the Elks/Cats gameday thread . It’s just like mentioning Beetle Juice three times …you post three times about him and poof here he is . Yuppers it would appear that all talks of a permaban have been proven otherwise as false and nothing more than premature and Fake News .
