I've only been to one WF game and that was the one the Riders hosted two seasons ago, it was so much fun, didn't touch my seat the whole game. There were probably better games, but like I said only one I have been to. That was by far the loudest I have heard the stadium, and I go to every Labour day game for the past 4 seasons, and it gets pretty loud in there.
Any one of many Western Finals that were played in Clarke Stadium in the 70's would qualify, can't remember what year it was but I remember one particular game where the Esks pounded the Riders, prompting Ron Lancaster to comment in the post game interview, "let's get out of here before they score on us again" (Ron used that saying a few times).
Another favorite was the 1993 Western Final where the Eskimos denied Calgary a spot in their own Grey Cup and Doug Flutie running off the field with seconds left on the clock with frozen hands after the home teams propane heater broke down. Edmonton went on to win the Grey Cup in Calgary that year. Several folks sitting around me, handed me their Grey cup tickets after the game, refusing to attend they were so disgusted. I had a houseful of Edmonton fans take me up on my ill gotten bootie. Ironically it was a beautiful day for football the next week, no need for heaters on the bench.
...suppose for me it would have to be the 2008 WF here in cowtown, BC at Calgary, where Mike Labinjo singlehandedly won the game for the stamps in the dying seconds by asking the rest of the Calgary defense to take a knee while he, by himself mind you, stopped three goal-line plunges in a row...AND he wasn't wearing a helmet....AND the lions had smoke grenades lit...AND I had been drinking pretty good that afternoon in the cold....that's exactly what happened....
...that's all there is because it seems in recent memory my team either can't host one or poop their pants in one...

What was the old Clarke Stadium like for CFL football games VOR?
And I hear it is being used for high school/university games now?
I liked Clarke, the bench seats weren't as comfie as the ones at Commonwealth but on cold November days you could fit a couple more people on them as folks gathered to share body heat.
Don't worry Red, the Riders are out, so the Stamps might be able to win another playoff game this year.
My favourite I was at was the 2009 one. Like others have said I didn't put my but down on my seat for the whole game (well that may be an exaggeration). My ears are still ringing from that game I think. Actually that is the only one I have been at. I have been to about 7 West Semi's but only one West Final.
Hard to beat the 94' West Final. That had to go down as one of the best CFL games of all time. Drama at its absolute highest with about 100 different story lines.
Last year. -17. Riders gut out a win. Grice-Mullen muffs the punt and Jerrel Freeman jumps on it in the endzone. When Cates ran for the first down with 1:02 left I knew they had it.
The best WF that I attended was probably '04, but being biased '10 is my favorite.
My Favourite was the western final in 1973. For my first communion my dad asked me what I wanted I told him I wanted to go to another Eskimo game. The only game was the western final so he actually flew us from Sudbury Ontario to Edmonton and we saw the game. I could not believe Wilkie actually saw McGowan in the end zone to make that catch.
On a side note the next year my dad had a stroke and he passed 2 years later. It was the last trip we took together and is the most amazing memory I have with him and my favourite Eskimo memory.
OK you win, how great it is that you have that memory and nothing can take that away. I was there that day, Wilkie to me is the most under-rated Qb in league history. His motto was, “We never lose a game but sometimes we run out of time.” He was a great leader and a huge reason for Eskies winning 5 in a row.
