Young Winnipeg football players getting valuable experience in U.S. thanks to

Nice read. We need more Bomber Alumni to step up in our community like Kito Poblah and Don Burrell.

I have no idea what their budget is or who’s paying for what but somehow they’ve managed to fundraise a bus (they actually bought the vehicle) and a trip for their Manitoba Selects to Florida. Nothing can stop them. I get the feeling that Kito and Don would run through walls to help these kids get an opportunity to showcase their football talents in warmer climes where it could matter most. It’s certainly not HERE in the middle of winter. Our province can be a depressing place for young athletes who love their plus temperature sports (I hated the cold and the gloom when I was a kid). Walking past all those frozen fields under grey skies on the way to school with an armload of books was always a real downer.

So what could be more positive than a busload of Dreamers heading south to sunny Florida to play football on one of the biggest stages in North America? Not a darned thing. :grinning:
