"Receiver Kian Schaffer-Baker is nursing a sore neck. Defensive end Bryan Cox Jr., defensive back Jaxon Ford, cover linebacker C.J. Reavis and left tackle Trevor Reid have knee injuries.
None of the aforementioned players practised on Tuesday."
Should be a great game. Better still is that the Hand of God gave us another crack at them by whipping up a leaf tornado!
That wasn’t a tornado…it was a air vortex created by constant pulling and pushing those plungers on those little air horns. Al’s fans worked themselves into a frenzy with a potential victory, pushing and pulling, pushing and pulling around and around the stadium, can we say the “13th player” just a little retribution for 2009 GC,… you’re welcome.
I would agree that it has been very close over the season. WPG won 2/3. Sask scored more (73) than WPG (70) in those three games. I also agree that if the Riders do not get out ahead early, the crowd is going to be insanely noisy. Fortunately for the Riders, the Bomber fans tend to quiet down early if behind and I have even heard them boo the Bombers off of the field at half time early in the season (not all but some fans).
It is going to be a tough game. Totally winnable for the Riders BUT they will have to play their best ball so far.
Hey this is the CFL. It’s not about ‘the money’. All of those players you mentioned nursing boo boos will patch their worn out sneakers up with duct tape like always and show up come game day ‘CAUSE IT’S SHOWTIME BABY’.
None of your guys or ours will ever let their team mates down like some of those petulant millionaires down south who sit out half the season because their wrinkly billionaire owners won’t cave in to ludicrous demands for more effing moola. Have you seen some of these spoiled locker room cancers prancing around on the sidelines with their diamond jewelry and gold chains hanging out where everyone can see? And which one of our heroes has the entire league focus so much attention on his bazillionaire popstar girlfriend on the off chance that she shows up for match that in reality she really couldn’t care less for?
All right all right I might have stepped in it there… Zach Collaros DID give Travis Kelce a Zach Collaros Bomber jersey that he wore in public AND CFL pundits DID temporarily lose their minds as a result… my bad.
From a coaching point of view it should come down to who is better, the starter at 90% or the backup at 100%. From the GMs point of view, if the choice slightly favors the backup, he might side with fan favorites and the marketing aspect. Either way you need to be confident that the guy playing is likely to finish the game.
As for the prima donnas? It’s all part of the show i suppose and that sells.
My understanding is that we intend to have 70+ players on the sidelines much like a college game down south. At least we won’t have to worry about Oline depth since we have 20 or so ready to go.
Oh whats his name, whatever, intends to use only a dozen since he had the Big Guy with the leaf tornados on his side.
Now back to our sponsor.
Anyway, looks like Lanier will be playing since Reid isn’t at LT. Sceviour in for depth at Oline and Bertrand-Hudon out at FB. Straker in and Ford out.
Bottom line is 8 very good Dline. That is a bunch and they should remain fresh the entire game. Add to that 8 LB for good rotation and teams support.
Not much WR depth but will have Thor and the Rock so plenty of ways to work around stuff if the need arises.
Love the look and what i think we intend to do with this lineup.
Riders definately need a Kenny lawyer type receiver, they have no one with break away speed to get in the open like that. No one, time to switch up the ratio. Get some American speedsters in the line up. That was just an awfull way to start the game off, but in hindsight , they got a lot further this year than I expected. Now they need to take that next step.
I do have a heavy heart, as I said I really was cheering for Riders just as much as I was for the Bombers for personal reasons.
Next year baby. Built back better! Seames like I’ve heard that somewhere before.
