Wow, XFL TV production is pretty damn good

Who cares about a law suit between Oliver Luck and Vince. What does that have to do with anything?

That means that the XFL doesn’t have a credible commissioner to lead the league through a pandemic. Need a commissioner to be a legit professional league. A lot work for whoever is going to be charge of a twice failed football league

The league never failed. Covid happened. They have credible owners and its not as much work as you think. They already have a foundation and large fan base.

Vince McMahon pulled the plug on the XFL because he was losing too much money then he was anticipated losing. COVID-``19 was a convenient excuse to say why he suspended the league. Then McMahon files for bankruptcy because he didn’t want to pay his creditors the money he owed to them.

Johnson, Garcia and Red Bird Group are new to the business of pro football. There is no foundation, they have to literally built up the league from scratch all over again. The XFL brand is attached to failing twice and being bankrupt.

You need four things for a league to be successful, stadiums,a TV deal, corporate sponsors and players willing to play. The XFL doesn’t currently have any items I mentioned.

Both the the CFL and XFL are gate driven leagues and need fans to buy tickets. Can’t have a season until a vaccine is created

I am sure there are plenty of players willing to play. Are you sure XFL was gate driven?

Yeah, but the XFL won’t be paying their players what they were getting last Spring. Cardale Jones was the highest paid player making $750.000(the Stamps’ Bo Levi Mitchell earned his money). Coaches were making more like Bob Stoops making over a million other coaches were making over $600.000. The rebooted league won’t be paying that much for coaches. XFL players were getting $50.000 a year for 10 weeks of work. They might get less with the new XFL. don’t forget they aren’t unionized like the CFL players are. The XFL contract will be a take or leave it offer.

McMahon said he was willing to fund his league with $500 million dollars of his own money after cashing in his stock from the WWE. Bailed when he was lost 40 million after a couple of weeks. Is Red Bird willing to put up the cash because Johnson and Garcia don’t have the immediate funds despite their worth. The Red Bird Group is the main money entity in this venture.

The XFL was a gate driven league when McMahon’s lease deal with the St Louis Sports Commission(Edward Jones Stadium) called for him to collect the gate receipts while allowing the stadium to keep all concessions. McMahon owed 1.6 million to the St. Louis Sports Commission(largest creditor owed). And McMahon owed over $600,000 to Ticketmaster, need them to sell tickets.

Most stadiums have already reached out to reup their leases. It’s not like UH stadium is being used a lot in February. According to the bankruptcy documents all sponsors are willing to remain on board with the exception of one or 2 and players and coaches are waiting to come back. The biggest issues will be getting the front office staff back, the social media department was excellent, and renegotiating a TV deal. I honestly don’t expect them to play in 2021, buy they have more than enough time to hammer out those few issues before 2022

Haven’t heard any rumors about the XFL renewing their old stadium leases. That means that they are looking for less desirable places to play in like high school fields and city parks to play in. The stadiums the XFL had deals with don’t want to do business with them because they don’t pay their bills

Pollack has already reached out to ST. Louis and Seattle. He will also most likely be the new commissioner and was the real driving force behind the leagues television and sponsorship deals. Luck was merely the face of the league

Well there still is any official signing of any stadium deal. The XFL are in a wait and see mode. The XFL is on pause because of the pandemic

Pollock is the wrong guy to head up any deals or be commissioner of the XFL Pollock was in charge of Pokerstars that went bankrupt a few years ago. A lot of pro poker players like Phil Ivey are owed money. I mean how do you fuck up poker. It was the fastest gaming pastime in the world.

If Garcia was smart, she’d ditch Pollock and find a credible football guy run the XFL. Pollock is McMahon’s guy. He could be the reason why there are no announcements on TV deals, Stadiums renewals, sponsorships, etc. I wouldn’t hire Polock to wash dishes let alone run a professional league

Uh, no, you too with the revisionist history, the league was failing spectacularly by any reasonable measure, ratings or financially, but COVID provided a great excuse to end your crap XFL league.

We discussed that all over the XFL thread earlier this year, and yours truly predicted its early end much as I did also the AAF last year.

The product simply sucked. Sure another season or two and made it would have recovered, but when investors taste losses first-hand instead of mere spreadsheet projections, well now minds sure change fast.

Remember the USFL? Huge ratings on tv, great attendance, and after a few years…

Remember the WLAF? Good ratings in tv, mixed attendance (some teams great some not so much), and after a few years…

Remember original XFL? Or any one of the other failed leagues?
Heck remember CFL USA?

The NFL is the NFL
That monopoly is not going anywhere

You do understand the reason production was so great was the networks footed the bill in order to get free broadcasts?
If the CFL was willing to give away its games a major network would step up

Teams like St Louis and Baltimore do well at first because they are mad at the NFL
Long term it just fades away
