Just when you were about see people stop supporting the Ticats. Casey Printers comes in to the Ticats laps. And you can see the Ticats are going to make sure they profit by offering a Casey Printers 5-Game Pack to make sure the stadium is packed and you can now pre-order your Printers jersey.
While the on field product continues to suffer. We have to have the best marketing and ticket people in the CFL. As they kicked into gear again to make the most of the changes and to make a profit to pay for the new salary. And what 1 - 8 team can say that?
I wonder if the Ticats will advertise the Mass 70% off jersey sale they are now having??
its kinda sad really....such a cash grab. Being this quick to turn around and have the flex pack, etc. just shows that making money still takes priority over winning....or should i say, getting out of debt.
I dont think slapping his name on a flex pack will increase sales....and what does that say about the fickle fans if they buy tickets JUST cuz his name is on it?
Shouldnt the signing alone be enough to bring people in? Until fans realize it wont change their losing ways anyway.
Nothing wrong with it, they went to great lengths to sign Printers why shouldn't they try to profit from him.
I would say Winning takes priority over making money though because they did just spend 500,000k to bring the guy here they are just trying to recoup that hit.
If you think spending $500,000 and making Casey Printers the highest paid player in CFL history is a cash grab for the Cats you need to shake your head.
This move was made for the long suffering fans of the Cats.
Un-Frickin-believable that you put a negative spin on this.
BOOOOOOOOO to you!!!!!!!
MARKETING, MARKETING, MARKETING.
Are we here to play football? or sell shirts?
THAT HAS BEEN THE PROBLEM FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS.
Too much put into selling the seats. Well guess what, we want a football team,a team that is competitive and plays hard, not the next marketing ploy.
A professional football team in Canada is an independent business that needs to make a profit in order to survive. Profit is a good thing; it makes our system go around.
Our front office is the envy of the league. Casey said he hasn't seen a front office as impressive as the TiCats. Unfortunately, their success hasn't been replicated by the football operations yet. Yet.
Actually they are here to do both. I wouldn't blame the business side of the franchise for anything. They are the best in the league at what they do.
We are half way through the first season with the re-tooled football operations staff. While some moves have backfire, others seem to have worked out great.
Personally, I would save the sharp toothed barbs for about a year from now. If we don't have a competitive team by then, by all means, start cracking skulls.
Hey, Ticats! How much money should I bring to the game to buy the "Casey Printers Snack Pack" from the snack bar during the next game? As we are all going to need our popcorn, nachos, beer and peanuts to watch him play!
Or another great marketing ploy is to have the next home game sponsered by a popcorn/peanut company and give out free popcorn/peanuts during the next game.

Co-legend,
As Steeltown fan wrote, that it is a good way to recoup that expensive signing.
This is just, nothing but good marketing by the Ticats organization. Why not!!!
Your bringing in more fans. Who wouldnt want to see more sold out games at Ivor Wynne with the fans going crazy!! I think its pretty exciting!
Bob Young rewards us by spending the money to sign him, the fans in Hamilton should reward him by going to the games and buying a jersey.
Nothing wrong with that!!
