You always hear of change in the CFL. It is time for some real change. It is time to discontinue the present playoff format which rewards teams with a losing record. If teams were required to have a winning record in order to advance to the playoff round, in this nine team league only four teams would advance. This would be typical in most years. I believe it would lead to better league play during the season. Teams would be aware that if they wanted to advance they would have to win. The league office would again complain that they would lose revenue but why not also change the format further, consider two gaim total point, or two games out of three, leading to the East/West championship game. I recall in 1966 two game total point was utilized.
