There has been no chat about this I have seen on the forum so I thought I would start a thread for what it is worth rather than just lumping it in with the NHL.
Canada is 2-0 to start the tournament and plays the arch rival US at Noon Central ( in about 90 minutes on TSN 3.
Canada narrowly lost their round robin game against the US yesterday. No doubt they will meet in the final.
Canada end up blowing out Czechia in their home rink after only being up 2-1 after two periods:
As expected Canada wins their quarterfinalmatch against Japan easily.
Am I the only one on the forum following this tournament?
And in the women’s World Hockey Championship that just concluded and which apparently few are interested in, we lost in OT to our arch rivals. Biggest game every year except during an Olympic year.
Both squads were gassed - in the OT 3 on 3, changes were cycled every 20 to 25 seconds. Jocelyn Laroque finally barfed up a puck leading to a pretty American golden goal. Marie Philip Poulin played valiantly in OT but she had nothing in her usually deadly shots. Laura Stacey had tons of chances to win in OT (and before that) but her shots were off-mark, leading to USA 2 on 1s.
