Winnipeg Issues

First we get hosed by extra time ticking off the clock before half time, then we lose audio on a replay, then the feed from tsn goes out towards the end of the game. I can remember a few years ago when they would blast fan noise over the loud speakers when the visiting offence was on the field. You may call it home field advantage, I call it cheating. The CFL will always be considered a joke if these type of things are allowed to happen.

Question?

Were you at the game? Or were you watching on TV because you cant go by the on screen clock.

When the whole ticat bench is pointing towards the clock and yelling at the official I think its safe to say that something was up with it.

The other play was on the long touchdown to Flick, The kicking team was coming on the field as they threw the flag for holding. The Bomber lineman was compling so they threw the flag like 2 minutes later.

What happened with that play in the first half where it looked like a pass from the Winnepeg quarterback clearly bounced before the reciever caught it? Hamilton didn't Challenge? It was so loud where I was I couldn't here what was going on. Does anyone know what the story was? thks

The refs were in Berry's back pocket.

I think the refs ruled the pass that bounced to be a lateral .

Ron Lancaster may have at first thought that a forward pass
that bounced in front of the receiver had been thrown.

Maybe Ron decided to withdraw his request to have the play reviewed
because the ref explained to him that an official had clearly seen
that the receiver was behind the QB when he caught the ball
so the initial ruling of the throw as a lateral would likely be upheld.

It was likely the linesman on that side who saw it was not a forward pass.

None of the replays showed that clearly so we will never know.

It was clearly a lateral - the QB (Michna) was standing on the 35 yard line and the ball landed well behind the 35 yard line. This means the ball is live (effectively a fumble) and either team can play it. Had Hamilton picked it up, it would have been a fumble recovery.

Lancaster initially threw the challenge flag, but then the guys in the booth relayed down the message that the call on the field was correct.

And this was handled correctly by everyone involved.

It was clearly not a forward pass.
