This one is hard to predict in my book but should be a good one. Always nice to have a sold out game with 30,000 plus fans. Start time is 6:00 Central.
Most of MB was holding their breath that Big Stan would be able to play, but alas he’s not ready…saw an article that between Bryant & Neufeld they have like 330+ CFL starts. The 6 that are dressed for this game have less than 50.
That will be the key…can they limit the penalties? Can they open the holes for Brady? Can they give Zach enough time?
Bombers ain’t be playing dead. They still got a team .
Riders can also claim what the Elk have said recently… Far better te than the last 5 games recorded.
The west is tight or what. The Elk are right in the thick of things and like the Riders play back to back with a rival that all 4 teams are not wanting to.lose for all the right reasons.
So who do you think the Lions are cheering for? They are in second no matter who wins.
Four oldest O line for the Riders are 6 game or longer. We have 18 O line total and our center at 30 is now the old guy.
Welcome to our world.
They hope for 20 season ending injuries on both teams
At least Bryant didn’t have a heart concern. All for giving him an extra week or whatever it takes to get back fully healthy. Unfortunately Bryant’s replacement, Wallace, was injured for the year last week as well and the fancy CFL stats had rated him the second best O Lineman last week.
The Bombers are used to injuries this year as much or more than any other team and at one time had 13 starters out. My theory is that a large part of their early season swoon was just having too many new players that hadn’t played much together to integrate into the starting line up at the same time. Their depth has been impressive and more than I expected so I don’t think injuries are a huge thing any more or an excuse, although it’s still always better to have your starters in the lineup.
I think if the Bombers offense plays as poorly as they did last week, particularly Zach, they will have no chance. Their formula for winning I think is to play decently on offense and not give the ball away. I don’t expect their offense to overpower. If they can do that their outstanding defence can stifle the Rider offense, but not if they’re out on the field the majority of the game. We’ll see.
Sitting in front of my clock waiting for the game to begin
Its true, a watched clock never moves.
Don’t like the wait either. I’m going grocery shopping to artificially shorten the wait. Also out of ground beef for my traditional game day nachos.
I think they are cheering for Sask, weird as it sounds, because they’ve already lost the season series to Winnipeg so a tie in the standings would go to the Bombers.
Everyone is expecting us to lean heavy on the run game…
I could see Buck go a different route and have a pass heavy game with quick outs & play action in the 1st half, then heavy run to close the game out. Come on boys, lets do this!
Making a Greek salad and will BBQ a strip loin for me and a pork chop for my wife at about 4ish.
Half time snacks will be grilled prawns… Lemon and garlic butter.
Why must you taunt us with these delectable meal descriptions…
Where do you live? I’ll be over at half time if the Bombers are winning.
First rule of cooking taunt people …
I would BBQ a rack of lamb but my wife for some reason does not like lamb
looking forward to this game. hopefully these two teams beat the living snot out of each other and bombers squeak out a win.
for sure eating donuts and beer with no regrets. but might go get some halibut and fries tho.
Speaking of BBQ;
Just got home from an early dinner at Rib Fest. Not sure if you guys have this but essentially its a travelling rib competition that travels around Ontario (Maybe the entire country?). It was a bit pricy, 34$ for a full rack, but me and my girlfriend really enjoyed the ribs + cornbread. We also splurged for a Tornado Potato and Lemonade
Gonna miss the first half of the game due to volunteering at the cat shelter but should catch the second half. Hope you are all having a good long weekend!
I’m at an RV resort enjoying a fire poolside vibing to Fleetwood Mac, The Doors, Van Morrison, The Hip, amongst other classics.
Game is about to start. Yeehaw! Sorry, that’s next week.
Rib fest is here in Saskatoon on the 15th September I think… Always a must do event here… Good on you for the volunteering also.
