Game starts in about 3 hours. Too difficult for me to predict. Let’s hope it’s a good one.
Checked the Weather Network and it looks like it will be about 7 degrees with some wind and a 30% chance of showers. Perhaps someone in the area can update us.
I’m going out on a limb and say that one team will win for sure, problem is I’m not sure which one it will be though. But if Alexander get’s running well out of the pocket, that’s going to be tough on the Bomber defence. Combine that with the Als shutting down Oliveira if that happens Als will win this one.
So little hype for this game all week. Could be that it WPG hasn’t had to play a semi final in awhile, so this is kinda new. Sucks to have to do this on the road, but that is where we are. Add in the big injuries from last couple weeks to Strev & Demski, and few (if any) Bomber fans are super pumped about our chances.
It’s been real hard to put together a good stretch this season, but if we can just win these 2 road games, we have just as good of a chance in the GC than anyone with that home field advantage.
Would have been nice to have had one here these past 5 years though…
Winnipeg can win, but to do so I think Zach has to have a great game. We have seen that this year- and we haven’t. So hard to predict.
It is unfortunate that the Bombers are playing this one on the road when they have the better record. Unfortunately the sextant/astrolabe/longitude tie breaking system favours Montreal while only the head to head actual games played favours Winnipeg. Can’t wait for the change to one division. The CFL is losing out on some 12,000 fans and the accompanying concession revenues
Yes. Bombers are 2-0 vs Montreal and that’s the first tiebreaker so they have the better record.
It’s the same with BC and Calgary who both finished 11-7. You seem to have overlooked the fact that the Lions got home field because of a better head to head record with Calgary. Had the sun, moon and stars rules been in effect for BC as they were for the Bombers they would not be playing at home today because Calgary is east of BC.
You will have to explain to me why two different sets of rules are fair. Either both should come down to best records (the fairest) or both should be determined via compass.
Absolutely we can.
Just seems so many little things (and big) have gone wrong this year, and the team itself doesn’t seem to have the the dedication of past years. We are totally capable of beating anyone, but we have to play near mistake free and have all 3 areas on their games. Been rare this year.
I just want a win - don’t care if it’s ugly. Let’s get something to build on.
Score early and get those fake noise fans out of the game. Hopefully the sound is somewhat bearable.
It won’t be that loud- there’s not that many of them.
But agree with you. The Bombers can certainly win, but not on auto pilot or cruise control. If Zach starts throwing to the other team then it’s over. Bombers need to get up early and bash them with Brady and Montreal will be hard pressed to respond. Montreal could also implode themselves, but I have no reason to believe that will happen.
For me it’s a real toss up. An unknown. Things may become much clearer after even just one quarter. We’ll see.
It’s very different for the Bombers this year. For four years they have been the favourite in every playoff and Grey Cup game, but that obviously doesn’t guarantee success. They deservedly aren’t the favourite today, but that doesn’t guarantee failure.
As a Bomber fan of course I want them to win. Great if they do. Too bad if they don’t and then we move on and I will still watch the other games and hope fur good competitive games overall from everyone.
As far as the Bombers go this game starts and ends with Collaros end of story. If its bad Zach then there is no chance, good Zach then we got us a ball game. As always the weather conditions will be a factor but both teams have to play in it so no advantage either way there, hopefully it’s a good game.
