Montreal is still in the hunt in the East, two games back of Ottawa and one game back of Toronto with 3 games to play against those two teams. I’d rather Toronto crosses over since they have no stadium and hardly any fans left.
Depends on how well Ray comes out of the gate. But considering how well the Als have played against the better teams. I give them a good chance against the Argos.
naah, they slip to 3rd at the lowest, but I still see them in a tight race for first. look how well ed did without reilly, and none of their QBs did well.
While I think there is likely to be an east team crossing over this season, I don't understand why many here assume that that team will be Montreal.
The Als are only 1 game behind the Argos and only 2 behind the REDBLACKS with 7 games to play.
The Argos have a cake schedule with Calgary as the only sure fire loss looming and all but two of the remaining games at home.
Of course they all have fairly manageable schedules due to the fact that they are all playing each other a bunch of times, but the Argos get to basically sleep in their own beds the rest of the way.
Don't bet the house just yet. BC has been Jeckyl and Hyde this year and could still take thirdas could Winnipeg with Nichols. Montreal has been just as good/bad as the others and don't necessarily have an easy schedule. It's going to come down to the final weekend between these three before it's decided and I wouldn't bet a nickel on even one of them to be one of the teams out of the playoofs just yet.
Well, after that performance by Winnipeg, and how good Ottawa seemed to play, I’m far less inclined to think they are going to manage to shut the door on the Als.
Yes they could still easily be third, but third in the west won’t cut it alone. They need to catch Montreal or Toronto and at this point I don’t see that happening barring either the Argos or Als sustaining a sudden rash of serious injuries.
Toronto and Montreal still have not met. They play twice. If they split those 2 games, there will be a x-over for sure.
Right now I would be inclined to think that the crossover team will be the Argos. The Alouettes although it was only the Bombers they defeated yesterday, they looked like a team on the rise and were very dominant in their victory. The Als and Argos have yet to play each other this season and you would have to think that whoever takes this 2 game series will wind up in 3rd in the East or even 2nd if the Cats falter without Collaros which is more then likely. If you ask me at this moment the Als are playing way better ball then the Argos and are the better team between the two. I could see the Alouettes making some noise in the playoffs this year and it wouldn't surprise me in the least to see them playing in this years Grey Cup. I honestly can't see either of the Bombers or the Lions at this stage making the playoffs this season the way both have been looking lately.
GM PDog is perfectly willing to let you overspend on a MLB no matter how Canadian he is. GM PDog will find the next Rennie Curran or Greg Jones or Khalil Bass in some FA camp in Mississippi or Louisiana or Kentucky or Texas in Feb or March and sign him to league minimum and beat you and your awesome team that has no cap space for a decent QB.
