Will Obie and Mitchell make this Ticats fan happy...

... and at least approach Kent Austin to see if he might be interested in returning to the CFL as a head coach?

He might be getting tired of NCAA football and wish to return to Canada. The only way to find out is to ask. I think he would be an improvement in our Head Coaching position.

Looking at his record in 2010, his team (Cornell) went 2 - 8 (his first year). This year the record improved to 5 -5. I know this sounds like MB type stats, but he is still the only person to win a professional football championship (with the same team) once as a QB and once as a head coach. In his one CFL season, as head coach, (2007) the Rider's regular season record was 12 - 6 (finishing second) and 3 - 0 in the post season (winning the Grey Cup).

From Drew Edwards' Scratching Post...for what it's worth re Austin (and Chamblin):

"on the CFL front, I talked to one source who thinks it's unlikely that Ticat DC Corey Chamblin gets the Riders' head job - former coach Kent Austin and Lions offensive coordinator Dave Dickenson are more likely candidates."

if we snagged Austin as HC, Rider fans would bleep their pants.

and I might as well.

I suppose that could happen, however,Houston Nutt just resigned from the HC position at Ol' Miss...I'm wondering if Austin would be a candidate for that job because since he left Ol' Miss, that offence has gone nowhere???

Stick with MB he is doing his job he needs the proper tools in the toolbox to get the job done like bringing back Greg Marshall to run our D :rockin: He is a great mastermind with the D
