Will Jarious be starter QB now?

Uh huh, sure

Describe what happened on First and Goal on the one again.......

^ This. OR his far lower completion percentage and QB efficiency rating.

i wrote this before the game and after the way he played than ya he deserves to start

Peirce is starting to come out of his shell, let him be starter qb!

Yeah, that could work to.

Peirce at worst, is the lesser of the two evils right now but when he gets into his groove he has proven himself to be quite the QB.

JJ lacks a certain something to me. He comes across like he almost is indifferent. I know that isn't true as all athletes are competitors but I like how Buck gets mad at a loss and JJ simply brushes it off.

I like that Buck gives it all. JJ just seems to give up the ball

When will Wally Learn that Buck is not the answer!!!! He may be a good QB but he is too fragile. Give Jackson a chance, he deserves it.

The Jurassic one will never learn, and Jarious may have redeemed himself late in the game, but he sure sucked earlier........maybe it's time to actually consider looking for a real starter, not a Wally's find that he can boast he discovered,.....

Well on the surface it appears that Wally Buono doesn't_know_what_he_is_doing, but the fact is we don't have the advantage of seeing these guys in practice everyday. I personally like Jarious Jackson over Buck Peirce but I don't know enough to second guess Wally.

I'd be more worried about how the B.C. secondary played against Toronto, more than the QB.

Yes, JJ's little temper tantrums on the field are a great indicator he is ready to lead this team.

Ya Buck appears to be no finisher.

JJ is hot and cold. Love the hot, but don't care when he is colder than a Regina winter

Now that we got the middle linebacker spot fixed ...it's time to start Jarious over Buck(healthy or not). But for god sake don't let Chaptelaine harness Jarious. He is a wild stallion that should not be tamed. He is not a Dave Dickinson type QB as he is more of an instinctive reactive QB. If Chaptelaine tries to choreograph plays Jarious will doom to fail. Give him the power to call his own plays or have set hurry up plays. With his cannon of an arm and a backed up defense, Mallet will have take care of business down low.

WALLY...defensive front four not doing their job. Take care of it!

Don't debate, just write down a name.

I think... Jarious Jacskon.

Look at the stats, Pierce: Att: 166, Comp: 105 for 63.3% and 1177 yards. Longest throw is 42 yards, and 6 td's for 3.6%. Interceptions are 9. Rating: 73.8%

Jackson: 69 attempts and 42 completions for 60.9$. Yards are 622. Longest throw is 57 yards. 7 touchdowns for 10.1%. And 4 interceptions. Rating: 100%

ITS OBVIOUS. Jarious has played less games, but his standings are so much better, even though he played less games, he has more touchdowns then Buck!! Those short throws aren't always going to work, but Jackson can do both long and short.

Its a no brainer! Make Jackson starter!

Why'd you make two threads on the same topic?

Numbers don't say everything. JJ is lousy as a starter and only has success coming off the bench. If you want to compare numbers, compare CAREER numbers, not just 7 games.

Don Morehead or Paul Brothers

Oh wait those guys are from Wally's era, and both about as reliable as what we have now.

Okay Lulay

Honestly, don't be fooled by Jarious's finish in the game. Travis was doing fine for a rookie, till he got Bucked! ( or is that Dickensoned?)

If Jarious is such a great reliever?, and Buck has been rattled again.....why not give the ball to Lulay?

Let him start, see what he can do, what do we have to lose?......if Buck's out for a bit at least we will know if we can rely on Travis should JJ falter?

No doubt about it now, Jarious Jackson, until proven otherwise or injury. Would like to see Lulay as back-up though. He still has to get up to speed and pay his dues before he goes ahead of Jarious.

Jarious Jackson.

I say trade a healthy Buck Pierce to Winnipeg and rape them in the trade. Winnipeg is the Oakland Raiders of the CFL. Whoever thought that Michael Bishop was a starting quaterback (He barely registers as a quaterback these days) should have their head examined. I figure we could get a nice package for Pierce as Winnipeg doesn't have a starting QB in their rotation. And the Lions will still have JJ, Lulay and Champion.

Career numbers don't mean a lot in professional sports. I mean they are nice to look at and they do mean that up to this point that player has had either a good, average or bad career. Sports is all about, "What have you done for me lately." Lately, like it or not, the team responds better to JJ in there than Pierce. You can't write off someone that is really never given a chance for whatever reason.

I recall a season that Pierce as injured for a good chunk of the season, JJ got them to the play-offs and was rewarded by sitting on the bench while a rusty Pierce blew a Grey cup chance.

Would you like to use that in assessment of players then?

Maybe Pierce is all that, but he gets hurt way too much to really say.

Here's something people miss that they need to consider.

When you're the starter, the whole tone of the game is set with you - you're either the hero or the goat. All the expectations and focus are on you, the one who can make/break the game. So you fail and your replacement takes over. Things are already in the tank, so he has the chance to be the savior, but the starter's already the goat - he wears that crown. You're just either going to follow suit with more of the same (but the starter already is labelled the one who blew it, you simply tried to help as his replacement) or save the day. The starter's eased you into your role and taken some of the pressure off by putting the focus on HIS crappy play.

JJ stunk when he first replaced Buck and was pulled in favour of Lulay. He wasn't great. Sure, he eventually got another shot and really had no choice BUT to perform well. But I'm still not completely sold on him. Love his long ball - he fires it with confidence. But he can't "drop" the shorter passes in there...that 2 point conversion attempt had Mallett wide open and he rifled the ball at him so hard it was uncatchable. Plus, his goal line short yardage plays need work - he fails there.

The verdict's still not in yet for me.
