Why So Few Of Us

For me once the season ends there isn't much to talk about with this team. Usually it's because the team came off a very successful year and there isn't really much to talk about this year it's more a case of finding the way the organization is being run so frustrating and ridiculous that I try to minimize how much time I spend thinking about the gong show this organization is becoming

The Calgary forum hasn't had a new post since Monday. Same goes for Edmonton. Our forum is updated every day with new posts and content. I really don't get the issue.

Its not an "issue" with me , just a curiosity about the low numbers. Why arent we more?

And the Eskimos have an independent forum with I see 3678 members. Just saw a familiar name has posted there.

Not sure about Calgary having one.

…This team would be my second choice hfxtc…I’m afraid the bluengold runs too deep in ol papas veins to support another club however…Loyal to the bitter end ya know…and it sure has been a bit bitter lately
‘Snarky’…meaning a tad belligerent with an attitude…I’ve got to quit using those old school adjectives…nobody gets them anymore

You know. I would go out of my way to start threads, dig up interesting articles, I’ve even translated entire articles because that is how you build a discussion forum. I had a couple in mind this weekend and I just said the hell with it.

The only discussion created today is your negative gem stating that some people have left because there is too much negativity.

I tend to get cranky at times because I find the tone on the forum too negative. I know a couple of people who have dropped out because of this. Is that a reason people are staying away?
Unless I put it in quote marks. Absolutely It is an opinion, it is very simple unless I put it in quote marks consider it an opinion. You can flame away, I welcome any argument or debate.

I think mada7 is BANG ON! This team has been run like a gong show. That’s why fans are frustrated and moving on to the Impact and whatever else. This team is becoming less and less relevant because it is being badly managed.

Here is the reality of the situation.

The team is on a four year slide
Two President have been fired in the last 3 years (I would tell you why I think that is but I don’t have a source)
Barker robbed pretty much our entire coaching staff.
Trestman left the team high and dry early in the year.
The most popular player beside Calvillo was lost in the Expansion draft.
Ottawa has grabbed the AGM, US scout, Office Manager even the Equipment guy.
The GM is trying his hand at coaching for the third time (every time with a losing record)
Hall of Fame QB just retired.
The online store that Lalonde painfully built is a disgrace.
We are two weeks from free agency and this team is beginning its search for a HC and an OC

How do you want fans to spin this into a positive ? Tell us.

You raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang skipper?

As to idealsheldon’s query I’ve been on every cfl forum and what you see here is pretty much the norm, even riderfans aren’t that many when you look at them in proportion to their fan base which is quite large. In spite of having thousands of fans for each team there are just very few that actually bother with forums. Just the way it is.

As per the video you posted Mr. Wetenhall and family are in it for the long haul. Everything starts with ownership and Mr. Wetenhall is one of the best owners in the league. The Popp situation will work itself out, I`ve called it ridiculous myself.

Bottom line, you can spin things all you want, there are only 10 people posting here, I find it strange.

Sheldon how can there be only 10 people posting here. When on the first page alone there are 15 different posters who have created threads ?

I am always ready to bury the hatchet if the other person can meet me halfway. In the past, I've extended olive branches multiple times to certain people, only to have them trample all over me. Those are the people I write off. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

Now days you have more succes when you extend a Cannabis branch

I think LeStaf makes a good point about usage in 2014. Taking the time to post on a message board is pretty old-school compared to 40-character tweets, texts, Facebook, etc. etc. Kids aren’t going to take the time to flesh out their thoughts in an extended written form. Most of them aren’t even being taught to write properly in school now, to my chagrin.

I find it very interesting how many young people are “unplugging”. That short attention span or “interest” and having technology shoved in their face as well as the increased Big Brother watching over their every move from birth may end up being a bit like how my parents in the sixties turned away from the Catholic church because they were tired of having it pushed on them. I hope so for them.

From what I’m told Snapchat is where its at now.

Yeah, I've heard the same thing about Snapchat. Also, they're turning away from Facebook because it's become too much about creating a unified virtual "lifestyle."

I’m so old and out of touch. . .

Never heard of snapchat. . .

Lache pas mon Zopi clone !
