Who's lying ?

So Tom Higgins says his kicker should have punted out of bounds and Sean Whyte was tweeting to mike that he was kicking where he was told to. Anyone see a problem here ?

I noticed that too and I call BS on Higgins. He's a master of passing the buck and deflecting blame. Can you recall a single meaningful instance this season when he's fallen on his sword and accepted responsibility for a negative outcome? I sure can't...

Sean couldn’t hear properly over the crowd noise.posting.php?mode=quote&f=2&p=1805153#

Inside info booom!! Hahaha! We caught them!

Check out this video. Vercheval is not too tender on Higgins and the special teams. He also calls out Whyte for not trying to tackle Banks (who is actually smaller than Whyte):

Sean Whyte can’t tackle to save his life. Nothing new there. The Als have neglected ST for years, they finally paid the price yesterday. This comes as no surprise to Als fans, and was predicted by MadJack.

Oh look! Now that ST has conclusively cost us a chance to play for the Grey Cup and the season's over, Higgins is claiming that he never intended to be both HC and STC.

Higgins continues to maintain it was never his intention to co-ordinate the special teams. Instead, he assumed the added responsibility when it became clear to those within the organization the team couldn’t continue with Ray Rychleski in the position.

“You can’t be the head coach and special teams coordinator,? Higgins admitted. “You can have help, but someone still has to be completely responsible, full-time. We’ll make sure that’s the case in the off-season.?

Sure, Tom, it was never your intention to be STC. Somehow Rychleski got fired by the Great God of Coordinator Firings and you had to step into the breach. Right. And you certainly couldn't have hired someone to take over from Rychleski, could you? I mean, we brought in Garcia to coach QBs, and Schonert to replace Campbell, but no STC? What a lying, weaselly sack of crap.

Higgins is a shid eating, full of shid sack of shid! A stinking liar, incompetent half brained weasel of a fossil.

F U Higgins!

Higgins let Rychleski go in late February/early March of 2014. Not a time where the best choices are available but not a time where nobody was available.

I smell Higgin's leg covering garments being destroyed by combustion.

I am very leery of HC who take on side jobs like ST/OC/DC, etc.
We had the same problem here in Toronto when Milanovich even though we had an OC in name only, wouldn't you know it Scott called all of the plays.
And did a horrible job doing that with his schemes all year long.

That and their staff and defense was decimated. They lost their 3 best players on defense as well. Two to the NFL and Watkins followed the exodus to Edmonton.

I don't know that it's necessarily a bad thing for a HC to be actively involved in a unit. Nobody was complaining when Milanovich doubled as OC and took the Argos to a Grey Cup in 2012. Trestman was very hands-on with the offence and called the plays even when Milanovich or Brady was the titular OC. Jones is pretty much in charge of the D in Edmonton and he learned that from his mentor, Don Matthews, who ran the D in 2002, the year we won the Grey Cup (Jones was just a line coach, as I recall).

The problem is when you have a head coach of lesser quality who can't stretch himself that thin without it affecting his performance. Trestman was good enough to be HC and to call all the plays on offence; Higgins is not.

Sean Whyte is not Damon Duval, the difference had been pointed out and discussed since the first time Whyte replacing Duval. If it was Duval, he would not hesitate to tackle, and most likely he would be successful, looking at the positioning. TSN commentators dubbed him as the last line of defense in special team. Too bad that by the time of his leaving, Duval's kicking became very, very bad.

But let's get back to the BS at hand. Higgins keeps getting caught in in it.
