Who will be the Next GM?

Completement en accord avec toi.

Éric Deslauriers will keep a job in the org. (assistant GM)

Is that your hope, or do you have a source?

Just hope, plus the fact that KJ said he enjoyed working with ÉD.

Whoever it is, the condition in the contract must be that they reside in Montreal full time. Any breach of that and the Als have the option of walking away…

Yeah, that’s when the rot set in for Popp – when he stopped living in the city.

Also from Farhan Lalji:

The team is also in discussions to bring Eric Deslauriers back in a football ops capacity.

very nice.

So far the list appears to be mostly people with connections to KJ. This is a good sign.

Herb posting that Boivin has requested permission for Desjardins to interview Edme as DOPP.

An other step of the duo McManus/Edme that I want !

GM : Danny McManus

Assistant GM + Director of player personnel : Jean-Marc Edme
Assistant GM + Draft Coordinator: Ryan Rigmaiden

Director of Football Operation: Eric Desjardins

I would be happy with that

Players and scouts are one thing. A GM needs to be in the city all year round. It’s not too much to ask IMO.

Well you know coaches and most players will go home, so if your GM ain’t in town year round, there is no way to sell football consistently out of season. That’s one thing Taman was always very good and respectful about. He would spend as much time with the media during the off season if not more than during the season. Had his weekly spots. Update fans on things, make NFL picks. Generally keep the team in the social consciousness during the off season. Help the sales side sell tickets, especially to corporate types when they can meet a friendly face.

What’s great about all these names is that it does not appear as Jones and the Als will be saddled with Maciocia for now anyway.
