I think Craig Butler will be groomed for the job but is a few years away. That guy played a mean safety and WIL linebacker in Sask, has great football sense and was good tackler and hard hitter. Too bad we lost him to a career ending injury. By all accounts including Glanville he did a great job this year and he seens like a bright guy . He can learn from Orlondo and the new DC.
Gerbear: Good thoughts. Craig Butler is a smart guy with lots of coaching potential. I hope we can keep him.
Is there any chance that we could get Orlondo’s name right in the poll ?
Pat Lynch ( is Spelling in Language Arts still used in school?)
Off on a tangent, and I apologize for going off-topic; but does anyone know why Rob Hitchcock didn’t get into coaching after his playing days were over? I always thought of him as a really cerebral player who would make a good coach. . .
Rob is doing quite nicely in the business world in his post football days since his retirement in 2007 after 13 seasons in the CFL . He is currently VP of Sales at a company called Equiton Capital .
Interesting side note is that back when Rob was still at Weber both him and Trevor Shaw(who also was at Weber at the time) along with Frank Marof worked as Christmas help at the retail store where I worked for several seasons . As it turned out all 3 made the pros and all 3 were on Grey Cup champion teams . Hitchcock and Shaw were both on our “99” team and Marof won his with the Stamps in “92”

So Sorry, couldn’t resist. :-[
That would be ideal.
Welp Grover sadly I didn’t make the pros , didn’t win any rings and wound up being the VP of sitting around . ;D
Stublers in the lead? Is this just wishful thinking or am I wrong in thinking he’s the least likely?
It’s going to be very interesting to see how this plays out. I wonder what the timeframe for the final decision will be.
I really don’t have a clue . Many would say “What else is new?” The Cat brain trust is like the Mueller Investigation . You know there’s lots going on but their lips are sealed .
Whoever is signed should follow the Bob O’Billovich tautology of “Better is better.”
Pat Lynch (the old Glanville Guy)
It looks like a lot of coaching experience is now available:

Hearing that Rich Stubler, Mike Benevides and Phillip Lolley all remain candidates for @Ticats defensive co-ordinatior role
Lolley had better be Plan C.
I would take Lolley over Benevides .
I have to agree, the Eskimos defense under performed. Was it scheme or the defensive coordinator
or the players? Stubler or Lolley or someone entirely new?
IMHO, I would rather see Dennis McPhee promoted before those 2
None of the above.
I don’t like any of those reported options of Stubler, Benevides or Lolley.
I agree with Grover and the nomination of D. McPhee!
(or Mark Washington, recently let go by BC)
Matt welcome to the forum!
And, I must say your first post is excellent!
