Who the heck is Crestman

I have a sick feeling that the Alouettes of 2008 are going to look an awful lot like the Tiger-Cats of 2007. As in, beyond horrendous.

You mean “recycled” assistants?

To put a positive spin on the current situation, it appears Crestman is an offensive specialist and QB coach. Last year's team had great defense. The team lost on offense where Calvillo struggled and Brady showed promise. Unless the Als come up with a major major signing, it would seem Calvillo and Brady are the QBs for 2008. If Crestman can help here, the Als offense should improve[ especially with another tackle] and if the offense can replicate what last year's defense did, we would be in for an interesting season.
Last year was an offensive write off. A coach with an offensive speciality has been given the responsibility to strengthen our Als. Folks this guy has remarkable credentials! He might be the one who can get the players to uplift their efforts.Give management some kudos. The owner has given plently to both the Als and the City of Montreal and Larry Smith has been a positive factor in the growth of football in this French speaking City. With his credentials Crestman has to be an improvement over Popp. Surely the management will locate some capable Canadian assistants.

Jim Trimble

Now I am just praying that we don't hire Ed 'Helen Keller with mitts on' O'Neill (thanks to oskie-oui-oui for the nickname) to be DC. This guy can't even get plays onto the field in time for the snap. Brutal.

I think Marv Leavy will disagree

Levy is the exception, not the rule. Most coaches take a while to adjust to the Canadian game. And that process will be even longer if Trestman isn't able to hire any CFL-ready assistants.
