Who takes over at CB with Nafees Lyon being released by the Redblacks?

Cornerback Nafees Lyon was signed by Ottawa this offseason and was being penciled in as a starter on the boundary:

However, he was released just a couple days ago:

So, what is Ottawa’s depth going to look like at cornerback come Week 1?

Who knows who will come out of training camp as a starter, maybe a hidden gem. Adeleke was signed during the off season and he has retired.

I have to admit, I’m surprised to see Lyon released before camp even starts, given that he only signed in Ottawa this past offseason. Was he not healthy enough to pass a physical? He seems like the kind of veteran DB presence that Ottawa needs this year.

Maybe they look at Gray??? There will be some surprises once we get to cutdown to 75 players which isn’t that far away. Teams can afford to wait & see what comes out in the wash.
