Who has the edge in the Western Final?

The BC Lions have been on an absolute tear to close out 2025, but none of that matters if they fall one step short of the big show in a few weeks’ time.

It is a hard one to give the edge to… Two great teams. Both deserve to be where they are .
As you know I am a Greenie, so of course I hope the Riders win. Do I know and claim they will win. Nope.
If BC it will be because they played well and deserved the W.

With the leagues undisputed best short yardage expert back, we have the edge!

Saskatchewan has the edge for sure. Playing in front of the rabid fans of the prairie team will help stall the BC offense. Sad but true.

It ain’t no given that Any team has the huge margin of an inside track in this game

Riders. I’m thinking by a lot. Big edge in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Hoping for a competitive game but wouldn’t be at all surprised by a 14+ margin.

The Weather Network predicts that it’s going to be a nice day in Regina. We’re talking -4°C as a high with a frosty wind that would cause most domed stadium players to experience ‘shrinkage’.

Major shrinkage episode.

I think the Riders will only win if their offense shows up and plays like they are capable. If it’s how they looked towards the end of the season, they are done for.

Alright Mr negative.

Again you have no inkling.
Riders rested the last two games injuries on both O and D the previous games.
Last game was basically the B, and C team with some Practice staff in the third quarter on to the end and they gave BC fits in a relatively must win game for the Lions

What?? I’m being honest and realistic. The Riders offense struggled for a few games during the home stretch.. they made it difficult for themselves…

I wasn’t referring to those games as I am aware of what they did, trust me.

I was talking about the games leading up to their clinching of first place.

For example, the game vs Ottawa, they won 20-13

The first TD was an interception returned for a TD. And their offense was struggling to have any consistency through much of the first half and some of the 2nd half. They should have won that game by a much larger margin.

The Elks game the previous week they did not have a good game! Yes the defense had a few key injuries but the offense struggled. Harris threw 2 interceptions even with the 350+ yards.

The game before that! They lost to Montreal 48-31.

That was Harris’s worst game of 2025 both he and Maier threw an incerception and Stevens had the fumble on the short yardage, he got hurt that play as well.

The Riders had a number of games where they struggled offensively at the beginning of games and the scores were way too close for a 12-6 record.

The reason Harris isn’t the West MOP nominee is because he struggled a bit near the end, if he had managed to keep the pace he had during the beginning and mid-phase of the season it could very well be Harris and not Rourke for the West.

Don’t forget, in that last game vs BC Harris and Ouellette started. They had the opening drive for the TD but then his next two drives produced nothing before he was pulled to rest..

How many games this year were close to the end (wins) or our defense getting us the W?..

So, you expect dominance on every single drive?

I’ll say one thing BC has played really well on the road this year , at Saskatchewan quarterback, is known to choke in the big games

I expect consistency not necessarily dominance. When you start off strong and then fall off and never recover, it’s not exactly going to win you games…

Oh careful. He might call you master of negativity. Lol

Just shine some sunny attitude on them and they will! Our offence had struggles, whose didn’t? Vastly improved year over year and still not good enough? Come on!

I missed what you said except for this: W

They don’t play that well on the road in Regina two weeks ago. Their weren’t bad. They’re a great team. But we have the edge Saturday.
