Who Ever finishes Second in the West will win the Cup

The display of futility by teams trying to secure the third playoff position in the West is beyond pathetic. The Aliuettes had it locked down two weeks ago.. The Lions had it locked down last week.. Now it's just a hot potato that will probably end up going g to the Bombers because the SUCK the most. This all being said.. Would it not be better to finish second in the West and keep your starters primed for the Grey Cup. The first place finisher will be cold,but the second place finisher would have had an intense practice with pads the week before. Plus their back ups will get a good work out too

The team that ends up in 2nd place ends playing one more game than the 1st place finisher. The 2nd place team will most definitely play all of its starters. The unknown is what can happen when it comes to injuries. QBs have been dropping like flies from a winter living room ceiling. Other key players could go down. Lots of injuries could happen, especially in the cold Alberta climate during playoffs.

If by intense practise you are referring the semi-final game, it will not be an intense practise. Guys who are tackling will be tackling to either knock the ball out of the ball carrier's hands or knock the ball carrier out. The D will be "looking for" the QB.

The team that earns the bye will be glad they got it. It gives key players who already have aches and pains two full weeks to help recovery. They won't have that luxury if they have to be on the field the previous week.

The team that has the bye I'm sure is hoping that the semi-finalists knock each other silly.

The concern for EDM finishing 1st, is they have a buy on the final week of the season.

They would sit for 3 weeks before the West final.

I hope the Bombers are competitive. It’s good for the league and the city to have them at least in the playoffs as they are hosting the Grey Cup.

Agree 100% greenandwhite, hope the Bombers beat Ottawa this weekend at home.
