Which QB would you rather have on your CFL team?

Which QB would you rather have on your CFL team?

  1. Terell Pryor, Oakland Raiders *Once on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Neg List
  2. Tim Tebow, New York Jets *Once on the Hamilton Ti-Cats Neg List
  3. Dennis Dixon, Baltimore Ravens *Currently on the Edmonton Eskimos Neg List
  4. Vince Young, Former Buffalo Bill *Currently on the Montreal Alouettes Neg List
  5. JaMarcus Russel, Former Oakland Raider *Never on a CFL Neg List
  6. Kevin O’Connell, Former New England Patriot *Once on the Edmonton Eskimos Neg List
  7. Pat White, Former Miami Dolphin *Once on a few CFL Neg Lists
8 ) Tyrod Taylor, Baltimore Ravens *Once on the Edmonton Eskimos Neg List
  8. Michael Vick, Philly Eages *One on the Winnipeg Jets Neg List
  9. NONE

I think we will see these guys in the CFL in the next few years:
Terell Pryor, Tim Tebow, Dennis Dixon, Vince Young, Pat White & Tyrod Taylor

These guys, i doubt:
JaMarcus Russel, Kevin O'Connell, Michael Vick

With many CFL team's having older VET QB's, there will be a 1-4 year window that the CFL fans will go through seeing alot of QB's come in and out of the league. If guys like Matt Nichols, Adrian McPherson, Drew Tate become busts. That window could be larger.

A short, unhearlded QB from a small college probably has a better chance of making it in the CFL than the NFL washouts you listed.

Experience counts in the CFL, not their NFL qualifications. QB's are usually developed in a system for several seasons before they ever see the field.

Here's the CFL experience of the starting QB's in the final week of the season:

Montreal: 19 years
Hamilton: 13 years
Toronto: 10 years
Winnipeg: 8 years
Saskatchewan: 7 years
Calgary: 12 years
Edmonton: 10 years
B.C.: 4 years

No Pat White there. Sure the league needs new QB's, but ones who have a history of success, not failure.

Good points. But Edmonton's stats, as well as Calgary's are not accurate. We both know that Joseph & Glenn are not their starters in 2013.

He was on the Ti-Cats neg list back in 2010.

Does Michael Vick even know how to skate?

So far Vince Young is the only one who has shown some interest but the rumors of what he is asking and what teams would be willing to give are far apart. He has not exactly shown a lot of effort in his football career. He was added to Montreal's Neg list but I do not see him there. He is supposedly broke financially so he needs a job and only an attitude adjustment will get him that. Ashame really strong arm and can run imagine if he actually put a little more effort towards his craft.
With Charlie Batch starting in Pittsburgh due to injuries you never know what the heck is going to happen. There are quite a few QBs in the CFL better than Batch

There is no way that Tim Tebow would leave the NFL, he's too much of a popular player. At home game they are chanting his name, Jets fans are hoping he will take over the starting job.
If the salary cap is raised maybe they could offer some of the QBs a decent contract to come north of the border.

I'm betting that even if his NFL career does end prematurely he becomes an analyst or something on one of the American stations, before ever considering coming up here.

Agreed. Too much money surrounding all things Tebow on the field and on NFL networks for him to come to play for a CFL QB salary. The minute he's exhausted all possibility of a spot on an active NFL roster he'll have multiple TV offers.

Hmm.. interesting. I've been told otherwise. but cool.

Tim Tebow was taken off the Neg list of the Hamilton Ti-Cats. But is now on the Montreal Alouettes Neg List.

Arash Madani wrote this over two years ago. He's probably no longer on Hamilton's neg list, but Madani is one of the most connected CFL insiders, so his info is solid.

Yes. Arash's info is pretty solid. Although mistakes can be made. I will agree JaMarcus Russel should have been on a Neg list. But i cannot confirm that he was. But if he was on Hamilton's Neg List. Makes since. They flip alot of NFL Qb's off and on all the time.

No offense, but why does it matter if you can confirm it? A very respected source reported it and he has much more credibility than an anonymous person posting on the CFL message board. If Madani says that Russell was on Hamilton's neg list, that means more than whether or not you can confirm it.
