I don’t know how many sacks Adams had but he does not have time to throw the ball. The Offensive line is not protecting the QB, albeit Adams or
Dolegala who really did ok but did not look that great. 1 for 4 on passing.

Dolegala is apparently going to get to start against Edmonton next week,

Their offensive line is not looking too well but Winnepeg had plently to do with bottling up their offense yesterday. Not sure the extent of Adams injuries. He is the driver behind that offense. Dolegala starts next game. He will have his hands full no doubt.

And the Elks should be fired up for next week’s game. They looked pretty good with Ford at QB and with VA missing it’s not going to be easy for the Lions

Tre looked extremely good in the rider game as did the Elk team.
Except for the opening kickoff, the half empty stadium had very little to cheer about

They don’t seem to like the heat, 30* at the start of the game. Same thinglast week Lets hope that’s all this is about.

The Lions don’t like the heat? Plus 30°C is too hot? Really?!

Well they’ll love coming to Winnipeg in November for the Final where it could be a cool -10°C or -20°C with the wind. We’ll do our best to go on a winning streak and make it happen.

I can’t promise anything right now though. We have an injury bug running rampant through our ranks and our offensive tackles are so wimpy they need to borrow someone’s grandma to open their pickle jars. :slightly_frowning_face:

I’m sure that most of these players are used to heat, playing through it in high school and college.

The real problem in Winnipeg was VA was late getting the ball out. Instead of throwing as the receiver made their break - he threw after they made their break, which gives the DB a look at and a shot at the ball.

The injury may be a blessing in disguise as a reset for VA, and a chance to flush bad memories.

I think Dolegala was 14 for 26 yesterday. He did not make any mistakes. Overthrew a few of his recievers. Did not turn the ball over. What surprised me was the Lions defense, gave up big play and then running into the kicker penalty. Not sure if Adams is back next week. Dolegala just needs more playing time. Looked a bit rusty out there yesterday. He did ok but he is not Adams.

The Lions issues are more defense related and more motivation. Every since they lost 25 to 0 they have looked flat. Bringing in Rourke may have been a subterfuge to what the real issues are on the defensive side of the ball and until those issues get addressed the Lions are in for a long season irregardless whether Adams or Rourke are at QB. They looked flat in the game against Ottawa and they just don’t seem to be playing with much motivation. Campbell made a mistake letting Dolegala go but that is an after thought now. He needs to let some of the Defensive backs go and bring in some fresh recruits. They are on a losing streak which does not seem solvable at this point.
