I think he will have a great year with some of the support he's going to have and I'm a little frustrated with the doubters. 21 is going to be a force on the D this year.
East nomination for Defensive player of the year, and the first one to hoist the cup once we win it at home.
Him and Big Teddy
Just like Garney and Big Ang.
Yup . That was exactly who and what I was thinking about .
Unless they drastically cut his salary, I can’t see him just being used on special teams, it’s his job at linebacker to lose. Wilson is a good backup and option for both Simoni and Thurman.
Hoping Simoni has a bounce back year - I think he’ll be decent but don’t see him having an all star season. Would love for him to carry the Cup at THF.
Really hope they hang onto Vosean Joseph for 2024.
95k hard money a 55k pay cut from last year according to Steve Milton. So Simoni is making the least amount of money since his rookie contract 10 years ago.

I knew he took a cut but that’s a good chunk. The new ratio rules probably figured into his signing as well. Still think this will be his last year
It's his 10th season as well if I'm not mistaken, and that's a significant pension milestone.
Actually it's his 11th season . 1 season in Edmonton in 2012 and then the rest here in the Hammer from 2013 - 2023 .
One of, if not THE, best trades in Tiger-Cats history.
Lawrence, Masoli and Greg Wojt for Nathan Kanya and Carson Rockhill.
Lol, thanks, Ed Hervey.
And yet, the team hired that very same guy...
And the icing on the cake was that it turned out to be a 4 for 1 deal when the Esks cut Rockhill and we re-claimed and signed him off of waivers .
8 win season doesnt just happen. You need architects.
It's all about consistency .
. The 1961 trade was supposed to have brought quarterback Bernie Faloney to Montreal, and Faloney finally did make it to Montreal in 1965, and Wayte was part of that huge deal. Wayte was traded to Hamilton along with Ted Page, Billy Ray Locklin, Dick Walton and the rights to Don Clark in exchange for All-Star quarterback Faloney and defensive backs Jackie Simpson and Ralph Goldston. In his first season in Hamilton, Wayte led the East in interceptions with 9 including two returned for touchdowns. For that, Wayte was named both an East and a CFL All-Star in 1965. Wayte played only one more year in Hamilton in 1966,
Simoni brings so much spirit and enthusiasm to that defense…I’d miss him if he wasn’t here!!!
It may be of very little significance, but if the years that you are quoting are accurate, Simoni Lawrence is about to play his 12th season in the CFL.
No it’s 11 seasons . You have to remember that there was no season in 2020 because of the pandemic . So Simoni has had 1 season in Edmonton (2012) and 10 more seasons here including this season (2013-2019 / 2021-2023 ) .
