What we do now going forward

Good morning,
After watching last night’s debacle. Here’s what Hamilton needs to do going forward.
First off everyone in the roster needs to be reevaluated including the coaching staff and The Scouting staff.

Quarterback: BLM experiment is over. The chemistry has never been right since he got here. Is it his fault the defense didn’t play well. no. is it his fault the special teams weren’t great in the beginning. no

Just sometimes a player doesn’t fit in a particular spot
And for BLM Hamilton just doesn’t fit.

Hamilton needs to evaluate what they have in Taylor Powel am I saying he’s the guy to lead us going forward in the short term yes. Long-term that’s why he needs to be evaluated to see if he is. Six games is not enough to evaluate a quarterback if he’s new to the league by end of season we’ll know.

Move to BLM the one game injury list
See if you can find a trade partner out west

Powell is your number one for the next few games at least. Frost moves up to 2 and Bring Tagovailoa up to 3

RB : where fine there.

WR :Hamilton needs to find some receivers with speed and height isn’t necessarily that important every receiver on this roster needs to be reevaluated and once NFL practice roster start releasing receivers Hamilton needs to be on the phone.

OT: this is one of Hamilton’s Achilles heels their offensive tackle spot has been a revolving door
It’s time to release Figueroa he’s just taking up roster space and can’t stay healthy. Hamilton needs to search for replacements down south. Or possibly make a trade .

Time to go to the other side of the ball
The defensive line has been decent

The problem is that the linebacker and Corner level
Again Hamilton needs to bring in some more players once the rosters expand.
They need to do some evaluations for next year.

Football operations staff:
Mark Washington needs to be replaced
Bring Orlando in from upstairs to finish the season

Bringing Jim Barker would be a great idea
He was here when Hamilton had that huge winning season. And it was due to salary restraints that he was released. I Barker should replace Orlando as president of football operations next year

This season isn’t salvageable let’s evaluate what we have here. And who we can get here
And let’s be honest we’re not going to get everyone we want because the UFL is out there and a lot of Americans want to be paid in that US dollar and stay close to home.

It’s not a perfect solution
But then again there’s no such thing as a perfect team

I asked an AI, Perplexity AI. And the solution is…

To transform the Hamilton Tiger-Cats into a winning football team, several strategies could be implemented based on their current challenges and opportunities:

  1. Improving Defensive Play: The Tiger-Cats need to focus on stopping the run and improving their tackling, particularly against strong opponents like the Montreal Alouettes. They have been outscored significantly in the fourth quarter of recent games, indicating a need for better defensive stamina and strategic adjustments late in the game
  • .
  • Capitalizing on Offensive Potential: Despite their struggles, the Tiger-Cats have shown offensive potential, leading the league in yards gained per game. They need to maintain this momentum and convert it into points, especially early in games to reduce the opponent’s home crowd advantage
  • .
  • Attention to Detail: Head coach Scott Milanovich emphasizes the importance of focusing on the little details that can make a difference in close games. The team has experienced narrow losses, suggesting that minor improvements in execution could lead to victories
  • .
  • Strategic Game Planning: Mixing up coverages and getting pressure on the opposing quarterback are crucial. This requires a well-prepared game plan that can adapt to the strengths of opponents, such as the Alouettes’ Tyson Philpot, who has been a significant threat
  • .
  • Building on Historical Success: The Tiger-Cats have a rich history of success, having won multiple Grey Cups. Drawing inspiration from past strategies and maintaining a strong team culture could help in building a winning mindset
  • .
  • Leveraging Key Players: With talents like Bo Levi Mitchell and playmakers such as Tim White and Shemar Bridges, the team should focus on leveraging these players’ skills to enhance their offensive strategies and secure wins
  1. .

By addressing these areas, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats could improve their performance and work towards becoming a more successful team in the Canadian Football League.

Oline: Stick with the young guys at tackle. Murray and Figueroa are injured or taking penalties.

QB: Bo is a good second half QB. First half, he just isn’t accurate enough.

RB: We are good, but give Litre more carries

WR: The drops need to stop, but the QBs also need to find them.

DLine: We need a big NT/1T. Rotate our DEs more.

LB: Love seeing Baker get a start. I think Wilson is a better WILL than Mike.

DB: We are probably two starting DBs away.

Can’t disagree with any of this

I would expect that any “real AI” software worth their silicon would at least recommend investing in humanoid robots to solve the Tiger-Cat nightmare. Where’s that Max Headroom guy when you need him, eh?:robot:

We have the same suspicion about Als reporters on our subforum.

Trying to do this with the information i could find on the internet. The Bolded players are signed past 2024. The Yellow background players are free agents as of the end of the season

QB for 2025??

It’s clear VA will not be a Lion next year as Rourke will be making 600k.
VA is set to make 500k.
We renegotiated Powell for next year at around 100k.
Tre Ford will be on the market as his Rookie contract with the Elks is up in February and he’s from Southern Ontario.
For any of this to work, BLM would have to be gone, and it appears that he will be.
What scenario do people prefer playing out?
I’m all in for Tre Ford with VA as a second option, with Powell as the reliable backup with experience.
Now if Powell lights it up and goes 7-2 the rest of the way, I’ll have to reassess in November.

Both of them have a history of injuries, which isn’t all that rare with mobile/running QBs.
Isn’t having an injury history one of the gripes about Bo?
Asking for a friend…

Yup, they’re both injured right now as a matter of fact. That’s why keeping Powell as the #2 is a great insurance policy.
Ticat attendance is down about 10-15% percent this year, management will go after someone exciting to sell tickets. I don’t think Powell moves that needle.

With the frequency QBs getting injured in this League, at least one solid backup is a necessity. We needed two backups last year.
I would hesitate to offer $500K to a mobile QB with an injury history.

There is still a very real chance that VA is a Lion next year in my opinion. If Rourke comes in and plays great these next 9 games he has the same NFL offseason out clause that every CFL player has and given the opportunity, he will go South again.

For that reason, and insurance for this season, I fully expect VA to be a Lion through the end of this season and possibly longer.

I don’t think so
Rourkes new contract is paying $700K and $800K
VAjr is gonzo

VA will want to go to a team that believes he is the true #1 QB. I don’t think he’ll be a Lion next year.
I also don’t think Rourke will get another genuine NFL shot.
