What the Toronto mediaAKA mr.Rogers doesnt want you to read

Good find.

One thing - of course the NFL Commissioner is going to tell everyone the Bills aren't leaving Buffalo.

I heard the Bills have nearly sold out all their home games.

The CFL could replicate this relationship in the Maritimes with Moncton and Halifax sharing a team.

Of course, what would you expect him to say? The way these things usually work, everyone involved will continue to deny that the team will ever move right up to the time that the last moving truck is fully packed and has cleared customs at Fort Erie.

IMO, the fact that Ted Rogers and his pack of media jackels continue to promote the Bills coming to Toronto fulltime is probably the most significant indicator that no such move is imminent. If Team Rogers were confident that a move was imminent, they too would be beating the "no move is imminent" drum - it's easier to rip people's hearts out if they don't see your hand heading toward their chests.

The facts are Rogers is renting the bills for 1 game a year, the NFL doesn't really approve of this, they have shot down every attempt Rogers has ever made to get a game in TO for the last 10 years. The NFL will never give Rogers an epansion franchise, Rogers has no proper stadium in the works, he doesn't have any government backing, LA is building a new stadium, the Bills are financially stable.

There are no facts to suggest an NFL team in Toronto and the NFL has no interest in Toronto.

And even when Wilson dies and his estate sells the team Rogers will not be able to outbid all the other offers and the NFL and its BOG will make sure the team is relocated to a more favorable market for TV ratings.

Goodell said he's had discussions with Wilson and said the owner "would like to see the team stay in Buffalo, and we're going to work very hard to make sure that it does."

Goodell also noted there are strict relocation rules that any new owner would have to meet before considering a move. As commissioner, Goodell said he would also have a say in determining the Bills' future.

Su ckers !

I'm normally pretty nice to people on here but c'mon!!!!

GIVE YOUR HEAD A SHAKE.

Are you serious when you say share a team between Moncton and Halifax?

Do you realize how dumb that would be?

So these players have to uproot and play half he season in Nova Scotia and find a place to live and then uproot again and move to New Brunswick?

Hey, why not split a team between London, ON and Moose Jaw, SK?!?!

That is correct. I mean I heard that too. 8)

Toronto and Buffalo can "share" the Bills because the little city (Buffalo) has a team and a big stadium that will work for most of the games and the bigger, richer city (TO) has a smaller stadium, but can sell seats at a premium.

For this to work in HFX and Moncton, Moncton needs to build a 30,000 seat stadium and get a CFL franchise, and HFX needs to build a 20,000 seat stadium.

Other than the lack of two stadiums and a franchise, it's a great idea!

These are the facts as far as I'm concerned:

Rogers is a bloodthirsty corporation concerned with making cash, more cash and not much else. If the over-Americanized NFL will put more pretty pennies in Rogers's pocket, they'll try to make it happen.

However, the NFL is thoroughly American, and we're Canadian. If the NFL can collect a bigger profit in Toronto or Canada than the CFL, that is simply a sad, sad comment on the identity crisis in this country.

Roger Goodell is from western New York so I think he would like to see the team stay in Buffalo.

However, if the team were to move they would still command more money in the states due to the TV deal.

If it’s not the Bills its no one thats what I love about Rogers doing this deal. If it doesnt work he helped his own demise by getting in bed with Ralph Wilson.

Green Bay and Milwaukee shared the Packers for decades, so the NFL has had this kind of experience before (as with the Card-Pitt -- Chicago/Pittsburgh) -- and "Steagles" -- Pittsburgh/Philly -- merger experiments during WW2). If having a game in Toronto each season is going to allow the Bills to remain in the Western New York market, bully for them IMHO.

Oski Wee Wee,
