Elks likely should focus on punting, FG kicking. They are using 2 new ones this season

Lions: best player available that didn’t go in the first 4 rounds of the NFL draft.

Oops, fast Eddie beat me to it. He got Cole from the Stamps and Cole will be good punter for the Elks

My mistake, not Cole, it is Cody. Sorry.

It doesn’t much matter what you want, its whats available…in this years case, there is a linebacker at number 15.
However if you are looking for defensive linemen there are a lot to choose from.

It’s a bit confusing too that QB Elgersma is at number 20 on the scouting list but it may be a team wants his rights if he doesn’t make it in the NFL. His performance in the senior bowl pretty much guaranteed he won’t come to the CFL first.

These are what fans do! They talk about players they want in the draft. It’s a long offseason, every sport talks about the draft.

Cats fan here .

Top 3 would be…

DL …Both end and tackle .
LB…
OL…

After that best available at any position .

Yep. Best player available. There isn’t much to choose from in the Canadian draft.

Bombers have gone on record to say they don’t necessarily go for BPA, they look for a certain attitude.
I think it is different in the CFL compared to the NHL, you want to draft the guy that will play for a modest salary and still bust his balls for the team.

DBs for the stamps please…last year’s model didn’t do so hot…

Yup. The top 20…and doubtful either QB is headed for the CFL,

Question for those that follow the draft closer than me…how accurate are the rankings compared to actual picks?
I’d guess not very.

It usually ends up that unless the guy is a very good player teams just can’t pass up, they draft by needs more than ranking.

There is a well maintained CFL Draft wiki (not sure who does it) with a ton of draft info.

Labrosse was great, what are you talking about.

Every team has their own big board. Plus you have to deal with guys going to the NFL.

They factory in; scheme, attitude, athleticism, etc.

As a squad…draft another Labrosse is what I’m after…

Mostly i put my trust in the coach and others to get what the team needs.
Fans have a habit of thinking they know better but we fans have the luxury of hindsight.
For instance, the Bombers have had great management for 5 years… The Stamps for what, 20 years, orhervthan the past two seasons for Cowtown… but looking step back into the fold this year with what thry have done so far… but many fans always seem to know better.

I haven’t been following USports much if at all. However, I would like to see Saskatchewan add some depth pieces on the defensive line as it looks like at least one Canadian in the starter rotation will be a defensive lineman.

They probably need to evaluate a corner to play behind Cambell in the secondary. They could move Lokombo to corner and play Jackson Ford in the event of injury but that’s where I would be focusing this year.

Overall I am satisfied with our Canadian talent and think it’s probably one of the better rosters talent wise in the league from Canadian perspective.

Elks has an embarrassing amount of DL signed up. Maybe a trade?
