What makes a great Grey Cup game?

Weather? Great in game action? An unforgettable moment? A good matchup? Rivalry! A great story? I feel there are many angles but which one(s) do you think is the most crucial?.

1989 was an offensive shootout, as was 1996 but the latter had lots of snow which made for a great view.

my team winning a hard fought game
my team winning by spanking the other team
my team winning

Doug Flutie winning.

Any game that doesn’t involve the stinkin’ Argonauts , REDBLACKS or Alouettes in it is fine by me .

so you be good with a Winnipeg/Edmonton cup game then

booze

sad

Just well played football. Few penalties. No terrible throws or dropped catchable passes. Good clock management. Good pace.

A mix of sacks, few INTs, few fumbles, and some trick plays and ballsy gambles.

With those ingredients, a 13-10 or 36-31 game is good ball.

Do you mean the actual game itself…as in just watching it on TV? Or, attending the festival for three or four days and then attending the game?

I’ve done both and they’re VERY different experiences…

The blizzard is essential.

specially in the dome

as i have said b4

start game in the day so most if not all of game is played in daylight
also move up gc b4 time change
.
both to lessen the effect of inclement weather

45,000 SCREAMING FANS ENJOYING THE MOMENT. The excitement in a big city where the home team has a chance of winning.
Two minutes left, tie the game, nail bitter!!!

Good snacks, bevys, and a bunch of people over for a Grey Cup party. The annual tradition is what I love about the Grey Cup.

Multiple lead changes, including at least one in the last three minutes.

Few penalties, and no missed calls.

No dropped passes or overthrows: everything is either caught or defended.

Lots of big plays.

Lots of scoring.

And, of course, the Tiger-cats win.

Though I would gladly give up all of this and have the Tiger-cats win in a blowout.

MY WIFE GONE SHOPPING FOR THE DAY !!!..but my bank account will pay for it after…hehe

A Grey Cup Game played in a blizzard and decided after three or more rounds of OT!

Agreed.

A “too many men” penalty on a last play field goal attempt that goes wide and allows the trailing team to kick the winning field goal.

A “blocking in the back” penalty on a last minute punt return that goes for a touchdown which would have won the game.
