What a "Coach"?

Let someone defend our HC now...the challenge flag over 3 yards & lose our time out (really laughable)...or maybe 3rd & 1 from the shot-gun up the middle for another turn-over (stupid ...we don't even do that in high school ball)...or lets go with Burris and his stats that he is so proud of that plainly don't win games.
Henry has his moments but the arm is done and just can't make the pin-point throws anymore...Yes, the defense gave up a bit but who wouldn't with little or no offense ...but on the other hand Webb could practice catching balls...
Our DC was taken to the cleaners and had no answer for tired old Joseph...maybe you should try to change your game plan on the fly and be prepared with more than one defensive attack?
OK, what team is showing up next week...the bullies or bums!

I could not agree more. Almost every loss this year we have been close in the first half and then we get blown out in the second half. That is a lack of on field adjustments and that falls squarely on the shoulder of the coaching staff.

I lke how he strolled over to Steele when he was down and wacked him with a clipboard.

Maybe our head coach should be the defensive co-ordinator for the rest of the year?

When does our HC make a change at DC?

Our defense cannot go on like this.

Good one Spinner…he was on top of that play…lets hope the real team is at home when B.C. is in town…cheers

Defense Defense. Oh right we have no defense, I think every game this year, except 2-3 games maybe? They allowed over 30 points. People blame Burris, but where was the defense when this guy and our offense put up 30 points and we still lose? The D is brutal, no matter who your QB is or what offensive players you got, your not going to be putting up 35 points every week on offense, the defense however, should atleast keep teams from scoring. Wasn't it 20 - 17? The the D just allows them to march back down for a touchdown? Happened to many times this season.

Our Defense is a joke!

Although i will admit, I have no faith in Burris. I thought Glenn was bad for being Hot and Cold. But again our D is the biggest issue

It was 10-6 at halftime. The defense gave up 18 points in the fourth, but the offense turned the ball over on their final three possessions. Plenty of blame to go around for this loss; it doesn’t just fall on the defense. In fact, this one doesn’t even fall primarily on the defense. I’d say the six turnovers were the real killer. And that one by Burris? Are you f**king kidding me? That was one of the most pathetic fumbles I have ever witnessed. The defense wasn’t great, but neither was the rest of the team.

You’re far to smart to be asking this question with four games left in the season. You know, I know and everyone else knows that there will be no changes until the end of the season at the earliest. And I’m not even 100% sure Creehan gets fired after the season. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if he is the defensive coordinator next season.

He may well be the co ordinator (notice Ive stopped saying "OUR" ) next year...
but who cares eh? they play all their games on the road.. where they always lose
a zero and something season is not outside the realm of probability.

Just Two Questions! Have we ever passed on first down? And has Burris ever been told that you have to throw to the recievers numbers on their chest? WTF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey! Take it easy.

Anyways I didn’t see the last 3 straight turn overs, because when we went up 20-17, things started looking good… Then… wait… oh god ya that’s right our defense, our wonderful defense, that doesn’t cost us games at all (sarcasm), took the field. So anyways what happened? oh right 24-20… so again I stopped watching, THEN I tune back in and I see it 31? to 20? Well thats game, so I stopped watching. NOW ASSUMING, that those last 3 turnovers, were on downs, except the one you pointed out to me, I assumed they came near the end of the game, where its all or nothing? See now, what I find funny is, some of the best teams in the cfl, yes they can score 30… But yes, there are some days where they only score 20-25 points, they still manage to win. I blame this lost and the majority of loses on our coaching staff, and our defense (Mostly defense). When the offense has that much preasure to win, because our defense, can’t stop one of the worst offenses in the league from scoring over 30 points, I am sorry, you can try blaming turn overs, during garbage time (again, assuming last 3 mins)
But it comes down to our soft soft defense.

The only time when turnovers cost us, was that joke game against Winnipeg, the first time we played them! And probably another game i can’t remember.

AND AGAIN, Burris didn’t look great, and i have no faith in the guy! I just think he is getting up there in age… although the guy has broken our TD record this year… wait doesn’t matter cause even though the guy throws for 30 plus touchdowns this season, its still his fault we lose games. He should be getting us 40 points a game, the bum!!! (sarcasm)

Cortez is already in way over his head with all his responsibilities.

They lose almost every game in the 2nd half but...Our coach says halftime adjustments are over-rated. Maybe they are for the teams that can't do it but not for the ones that can, and win!

dee webb has a sure INT in his hands, but drops it. eskies then score a TD.
that is on the defence.

the ticat's defence had a few picks in thier hands, only to drop them...which then turned into eskimo points.

when the cats score a TD ( fantuz ) and take a 3 point lead, the ticats defence gives it right back.
a ticat defender runs free on a blitz, only to run right past a stationary kerry joseph, who then hits fred stamps on a huge gain. joseph didn't move at all to avoid the sack. the cats defender was so eager to see he was all alone, that he just ran right past KJ....wtf.
creehan probably won't be here next year, but in all honesty, these players on defence are useless.

the cats need to get rid of useless chevy walker ( who has an open field to run to the endzone, but runs towards the sidelines and into defenders ) and giguare and use that money to bring in some defensive help. those are the only adjustments i'd make this off season.

this season is over with one more loss.

8) Ralph Sazio would turn over in his grave, if he heard that Cortez thinks that half time adjustments are over-rated !!!

" They lose almost every game in the 2nd half but...Our coach says halftime adjustments are over-rated. Maybe they are for the teams that can't do it but not for the ones that can, and win!"

What does that say about the coach if he beleives there is no need to make half time adjsutments. How about making O and D adjustments as they play? A good team will do this and a bad team will sit back and watch the game slip away. The Tiger Cats had an opportunity to make a statement last night. The real Hamilton Tiger Cats stood up and showed the entire league that they can be beat by any team with little or no fight. Put a fork in them, ufortunately their done.

Not only did the defense give up 18 points in the fourth quarter, from the end of the third quarter the defense gave up 24 points in 4 straight possessions, and the field goal was less than 20 yards. That was the game. When it really mattered, the Eskimos were able to move the ball down field at will against this defense.

Blame it on coaching, or personnel, it reall doesn't matter. The defense recorded no sacks, one lucky interception, and one interception on a hail mary at the end of the half. They don't put enough pressure on the QB, and the DBs cannot shut any marquee receiver down. How can you let Fred Stamps catch all those passes so wide open?

I can only hope that upper management will realize after this year that you can get all the stats you want on offense, be awesome on special teams (Williams and Congi are having spectacular years), but if you can't stop the other team on defense your team will ultimately suck!

I really don't think it would take a lot to shore up this defense. They need two marquee players to make a huge difference. One DB who can shut down the oppositions best receiver, and one DT who can help control the line of scrimmage. These additions would allow the linebackers to be able to spend less time covering for the weak secondary, allow the linebackers to spend less time worrying about stopping the run on their own, and the DEs will be provided with more sack opportunities. I always find it difficult to judge coaching, because so much of what a coach does is not seen. While it may be easy to say that the team sometimes looks like they come out with a poor game plan, and they don't appear to adjust at half time, it is hard to say how much of that is the coaches fault, and how much is the players fault. We have had some good defensive coordinators pass through the organization over the past 5 years, but not had a lot of good defenses, so I tend to think its more on the personnel (not that I think Creehan is doing a great job by any means).

Has anyone else noticed how many teams and how many players have had great offensive outputs on the week they play the Ti-Cats. Nothing like listening the the TSN commentators saying how Kavis Reid was a geneous for taking over the offensive coordinator role this week, and how it sparked Fred Stamps into having his first 100+ yard game. The only thing that was ingeneous is they played against a horrendous Ti-Cats defense in their own stadium. You can be sure the Eskimos won't look so good next week.

PJ

swap defences with any other defence in the league, and the cats have a winning record.

whenever the cats score a TD and get some sort of hope, the defence gives up a TD on the next series. this is true for most games this year.

Bob Obilovich is this year's Ken Miller.

-week 2, the ticats put up 36 points and STILL lose to the lions, giving up 39
-week 7, defence blow a 4th qtr lead giving up 14 4th qtr points to the stamps.
-week 9, the cats put up 29 points and have a lead very late in the game, but allow the als to get in FG range and win it with 31 points
-week 10, labour day, the cats score 30 and the defence blows a 4th qtr lead and lose 33-30
-week 15, defence drops numerous picks and allow kerry joseph to march the eskies the length of the field time and time again. after a fantuz TD, allow the esks to get it right back. made a poor esks offence look amazing.
