Weekly Predictor: Who is taking the 111th Grey Cup?

The 111th Grey Cup must be a bit of PTSD for Ryan Dinwiddie.

Dinwiddie’s only start in a Grey Cup in his career as a quarterback was due to a broken limb by the starting quarterback, Kevin Glenn, in the Eastern Final.

The CFL has fumbled another opportunity to make the League better. Everyday that goes by during Grey Cup Week where the 2025 CFL Schedule has not been announced, is a day that hurts the new BC Lions Owner by not allowing him to capitalize on Grey Cup Excitement in his local market by selling Season Tickets. This is another “FAILURE” by CFL Commissioner Randy Ambrosie that can be added to a long list of failures during his disastrous administration including being the only Commissioner who had a CFL Season completely cancelled, when the NFL continued to operate during COVID and in Canada, former CFL Player Mike Morreale Commissioner of the Canadian Elite Basketball League kept his League running during COVID. Goodbye Randy, you were absolutely the WORST CFL Commissioner in history!!!

//Arbuckle just has to understand he doesn’t have to try to be a hero//. I think Dinwiddie should be the couch of the year!!!

Most of the game Argos won this year have had less numbers in the offense yards + less time of possession. It is not just defense too. Argos strike at the right time and raise up when needed. Some great coaching decisions. And not to forget that Camron Duke also in the room.

Randy has been deemed pretty much a complete and utter failure. But for the most part he capitulated to owners.
The Genius sports guff was the last straw for me - and will continue to be until the extent of the carnage is fully disclosed.

The scheduling botch for 2025 is curry on the straw. Doman might have sold 100s if not 1000s of ticket packages if he had a schedule to base it on.

Fortunately, Hunky Bill’s Pyrogy Market at the Edmonton Summer Fari (and other circuit stops) still needs a pyrogy-maker-in-chief. I nominate Randy Ambrosie as ‘Commissioner of Pyrogies’

As for this Sunday’s Grey Cup game itself. . . . . most of the wild-eyed sports prognosticators, including Uncle Milty are tabbing the Bombers for the W.

Other than the gross mis-match in the return game (J Grant is an all-time great, Lucky is just a rounder) the only kryptonite the Bombers will face is the so-called historic -

ARGO BOUNCE

The biggest upset on Sunday would be Lucky Whitehead out-playing Janarion Grant. That would be something - but the chances of that happening are less than 1 in a 100

To be honest… CFL had no chance of running 2020 season because COVID destroyed second version of XFL that seemed to have something going… Running a small venue for basketball league and running a big stadium for football league… is just a little bit too much of a difference. NFL was a bit more lucky to start its 2020 season when COVID became a little more tamed.

Why in the world did the N.H.L. schedule a Vancouver Canucks (great team & good luck to them!) game on the same day as the Grey Cup game?! Talk about ridiculous dumb scheduling! The Canucks should have changed their game to a different day! Go Blue Bombers :football:! Go WPG Jets :ice_hockey:!

Yes, I’d say that was a mistake on their part, was at the 1986 Grey Cup game (Vancouver) and the Jets were playing the Canucks Saturday night which was great. Sadly, the Bombers weren’t there that year. Hopefully, the Jets will be able to schedule some games during Grey Cup week next year for so visitors can take in a hockey game while here. And yes, Go Blue Bombers - Go Jets

Quite a few Canucks fans don’t even know that the CFL exists. It won’t be a problem filling up Rogers Arena. The Canucks and Lions also share some staff so it some ways it’s nicer for them to work the Grey Cup and then walk across the street and do a Canucks game.

If other sports like the NFL, NHL, NBA release their schedule before their championship game, I’m not aware of it.

IF any Canucks fans are not aware of the B.C. Lions then they must live under a rock! B.C. Place is very close to the Canucks arena & there is B.C. Lions signage at B.C. Place. Go Blue Bombers!
