We are one month away from playoffs and there is a lot left to be decided!
Sure, the Alouettes are now locked into first place in the East and the Bombers are inching closer to do the same in the West but the Riders, Argos, Lions, Elks, Tiger-Cats, REDBLACKS and Stamps are fighting for playoff positions or playoff lives.
I’m surprised a bit by the percentage of victory in the WBB Ticat game. I agree that the records strongly favor WBB but Hamilton has been great in September as well. There may be an upset in the making in Steel town.
Same in Edmonton. The Elks seem to have the Riders number. If Leake is healthy I pick Edmonton. If he’s not playing I’ll go with the Riders.
Riders have a habit of winning the games you don’t expect them to and losing the ones you do expect them to win. Which is why i am concerned about the game with Edmonton.
Winnipeg should lose to Hamilton, just because they are getting arrogant again. Their initial poor start had them humbled but the two officiating aided wins over the Riders made them revert to past behavior.
The one good thing about this season is that except for Montreal each team has gone through a stretch where they struggled. And I am hoping Montreal’s will start now and continue into the postseason. They are the only team more conceited and arrogant then the Blue Bombers, and that takes a lot to accomplish. A couple or three losses to end the season topped off by a pummeling in the Eastern final would be karmic justice.
Don’t underestimate the ability of the Elks to shoot themselves in the feet. Even with the usual questionable officiating calls against the Riders, the Elks will find a way to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory.
When the Elks play the other teams, i will cheer for Tre Ford. But when he’s playing against the Riders, the only time i will cheer for him is when he throws an interception, fumbles or is sacked.
