Weekly Predictor: Calgary to defeat the Lions?

We entered last week with two unbeaten teams and left the week with both Montreal and Saskatchewan falling for the first time.

This is a companion discussion topic for the original entry at https://www.cfl.ca/2024/07/16/weekly-predictor-calgary-to-defeat-the-lions

Just comparison between BC vs SSK and MTL vs TOR game.
SSK should have focused more on rushing and grinding the time so that BC would not have more possession. The more airtime teams usually get panic and make turnovers when the time is limited.

SSK should use that the scenario to keep more possession so that to limit WPGs possessions. More than two third of the games won this season have more rushing yards or different in rushing yards is less than 20. Rush Rush Rush!!!

Edm/Ott - both on short week. Elks/REDBLACKS have split season series last 3 years. Elks have won last 4 of 5, 5 of 7 games in Ottawa since 2017. Elks regrow their racks every year - fun fact. Antlers a little bigger this week than last - may be enough to get over the hump.:grinning:

Riders allow 47 yds rushing/game - Wpg 117/game. Riders will use rush to help out young QB. Riders played better vs BC than Wpg @ home vs up & down Stamps. Collaros has worst QB rating of all starters. Will go Riders in close one.

There’s Bo & there’s woe. More of the latter this week.

If they can’t handle Bombers, Lions a different beast altogether. Lions roar.

Nye is a wizard a predictions but I can’t figure out his choice of Stamps. He gives all praise to BC but bases his prediction on VA having an off game. Wishful thinking? Now I’m really curious.

Nothing but praise for the Lions, then picks Calgary without any reasoning. Very odd. At a minimum, I would review injuries, game plans, how teams fare against each other in terms of matchups, coordinators etc.

Regarding the Lions, there is also a good chance Keon Hatcher is back, along with TJ Lee. Cottoy may be back also. This amps up both sides of the ball for BC.

The stamps can’t finish no d line and no quarterback
Here’s hoping the elk are not the only Alberta team who fire their coach :beers:

Ticats had a chance to make some changes during the bye. They didnt move (OK they got new ownership with the buyout of Stelco.) So, more of the same this week. 0 - 6
But at least they will still get their 20,000 fans at THF.
