WEEK 9: Montreal Alouettes @ Hamilton Tiger-Cats

We learn of new injuries, from the game in Ottawa, on the TiCats’ Day1 Injury Report:
Sayles - Achilles, Wilcots - Shoulder, McAllister - Ankle, Joseph - Ankle, Diallo - Thumb although he twice limped off the field with some other injury(ies), and, of course, Mitchell - Broken Leg.

Still “limited” rather than “DNP.”

I take it there are achilles injuries that are not as serious as the notorious 12-months-out variety.

Always love how early y’all get your game threads going. Should be a close, exciting game, regardless of outcome.

You will be crushed :innocent:

 It’s possible. We could also do the crushing. But given that you’ll be starting your third-string QB, I figure a close game is more likely.

Obviously Frasier Sopik injury is the reason for signings happening today

Van Zeyl has resurfaced as missing from practice due to non-football reasons.

Normally I would say we will just have to wait for the depth chart to come out and be posted BUT then again we are STILL waiting for the depth chart from the last game to be posted on the Ti-cats homepage .

Wasn’t STE injured again against Ottawa? I distinctly remember his leg being looked at by the training staff at some point. ( I was involved in some rain delay beer celebrations though).

I want to see Condell give Powell a bit more rope. Let him throw more intermediate and even deep passes. Open up the game, force MTL to defend the whole field.

Let’s find out what we’ve got in this kid. He seems to have the accuracy. He could still prove to be the QB who gives us the best chance to win this year, as the veterans have not exactly been dominant.

Why not? Especially if you’re willing to let BLM throw five or six interceptions.

He was injured on special teams.

I read Montreal and Ottawa have signed CFL experience players this week. (Maurice fFrench to Ottawa, Randall Evans to Montreal). These are the 2 teams the TigerCats are fighting for playoff positioning. The Ticats are not making any personnel signings. Does this mean they are satisfied with the players on the 3-4 team? Should they be complacent with what they have seen so far? Or was so much money tied up on off-season signings (led by BLM ) that there is no money left?. Looks like the Montreal game is even more important now.

Hamilton signs other teams’ midseason cuts: What are they doing signing people who couldn’t even play for Edmonton?

Opposing team signs other teams’ midseason cuts: OMG why doesn’t Hamilton want to improve?

Coach O getting his ass thrown out with the garbage would be splendid news.

The context for the Als signing Randall Evans:

  • He played for Thorpe a couple years ago (in Ottawa, I believe), so he’s likely familiar with Thorpe’s system and thus a “plug and play” defensive back.
  • Our starting SAM linebacker, Najee Murray, suffered what has turned out to be a season-ending injury against Calgary. His likely replacement, J.R. Reed, will have to slide to SAM, leaving us with a spot to fill in our secondary.
  • We’re clearly on a mission to sign every player named “Evans” in the league. (Caleb, Ciante, Randall)
