Wow... this season is causing lots of confusion.

TSN, Sportsnet, and CBC all have Montreal first, Winnipeg 6, and TO/Edmonton 7 and 8.

But who is #2? Is it Sask. or Calgary.
Who is #4? Is it BC or Hamilton?

Perhaps week #4 will tell us if BC and Calgary are back on track or not. It looks like the pundits feel that they are.

TSN:
[1] Montreal (Last Week: 1)
[2] Saskatchewan (Last Week: 2)
[3] Calgary (Last Week: 7)
[4] B.C. (Last Week: 8)
[5] Hamilton (Last Week: 6)
[6] Winnipeg (Last Week: 3)
[7] Toronto (Last Week: 5)
[8] Edmonton (Last Week: 4)

How are we 5th? Behind a team we already beat, on their turf no less.

Behind two teams who JUST got their first wins against the two bottoms teams of this ranking!

Are you kidding me? What a joke by TSN.

Should be:
Montreal
Saskatchewan
Hamilton
Winnipeg
Calgary
BC
Toronto
Edmonton

we definately shouldnt be behind a team that we have a better record than and beat on their turf

The only rankings that matter are the ones that come out on Nov. 30.

I know edmonton hasn't been very good but I don't see how they can be worse than toronto. Other than the 1st quarter of the week 1 game they have stunk up the cfl.

edmonton at least shows some play making ability.

If you look at the ACTUAL standings we ARE in 3rd ... Riders have more pts for than we do. IMHO the reason TSN has us in 5th is because "traditionally" BC and Calgary have been good teams and we ... well we all know the recent past.

That placement is an indication of previous years NOT the current year.

And yes Toronto should be last ... tho' Edmonton's game against the Als was particularly putrid!

Correct.

And if one wants the current year's placement check the standings.

If we win on Thursday we move to first place in the league. Thats a pretty big thing, i know its only going to be week 4 but whens the last time the cats were in first?

Edmonton has been by far the worst team ive seen all year, their assistants are brutal, very predictable offensive playcalling with a limited play book that they've used for the last 10 years and it baffles me why Richie Hall is not calling the defences and allowing a horrible coach like Daley to do it.

Their defence has to be considered the worst in the league right now with an offence that is slightly ahead of winnipegs

I think CBC has it about right.

How does Calgary clinch 2nd with a 1-2 record exactly?

I agree CBC would have it more correct. I can understand why they don't want to put Hamilton higher because of past years. But I think by the half way point of the season we will be creeping up to take over third overall maybe even second if we can beat Sask. Give it time. No one can believe the Cats are for real.... including most of us. lol

Power Rankings are supposed to be a snapshot of who is better at the time. Ranked on how good teams are as of a given date.

So to have BC better than us is only because they looked much better than we did this past week. Same with Calgary. We did not look like the 2nd or 3rd best team in the CFL last week so the ratings arent that bad IMO.

It should be

  1. Montreal
  2. SK
    3)Calgary
  3. Hamilton
  4. BC
  5. T.O.
  6. Wpg
8) Edm.
