Cats would be okay if we could play Toronto, Montreal, Edmonton each week, well maybe not Edmonton now but we dd take two but lost two to both Sask and Calgary and salt with Winterpeg so yes Mediocre at best!
With 6 games left in the season Cats still have an opportunity to finnish on top in the east, the upcoming back to back against Ottawa again all be big since Ottawa already have one win against us, will be a tougher battle to fight for first and maybe to hold to second?
Not everybody on this board necessarily cares about winning - those of us that do, are catagorized as negative.
There is a saying about people who don’t mind losing, but the verbage escapes me, just now.
Unfortunately, we have lots of injuries right now, our Qb is very good with starters playing with him; but not so good without - that is why he is not close to BLM(and I dont like BLM - jealousy).
…and that useless team in B.C, looks less and less useless…with time, Wally sure knows how to turn a team around.
BC needs this win bad, we can no longer afford to be philanthropists.
Yes, it’s hard to go from 6-12 to 18-0 in 1 year. We are who we are, better than last year. Still work to do. Other teams were getting better, had cfl experienced coaches, better player personelle and we were pissing around with Johnny Football for the first 6 weeks. Balancing our line up to pay for him. Fortunately our division sucks. We are mediocre but exciting when healthy and in a better spot than last year. Hopefully we don’t find away to take a step backwards like we usually do and maybe get on a roll at the right time like now heading into the final stretch of the season. Masoli is second in the league in passing that is not mediocre.
i know eh, can’t believe we pissed away the first third of the season letting Manziel play and throw away those ducks late in games, blowing all those potential comebacks… wait… nvm…
I agree that the verbiage escapes you . So if we dare to disagree with your thought, we are losers ? People who take the time to comment on our site care about winning . Perhaps some of us have a greater understanding of the ups and downs of a football season. Well I hope this doesn’t come across as toonegative.
Call me crazy, but I would have rather been a Calgary fan over the last two years and see 18 regular season games and 2 playoff games were my team was competitive and entertaining but lost in the final, than be a fan over one of the two mediocre teams in the regular season that won the cup.
Winning is not everything, and any city that “needs” a winner likely does not deserve a team.
You can have the most entertaining game in history, one team is going to lose.
Good point . A prime example being the 1989 Grey Cup . It’s probably one of the few Grey Cup games where people remember who actually lost the game as well as remember who won the game because it was one of the most memorable and entertaining Championship games of all time . Oh and for the record based on the regular season records of both clubs that year ? The best team at 12-6 was the loser on that day to a team with a very mediocre 9-9 record on the season .
DING DING DING
Yes we are very good at the QB spot. Masoli has turned the Cats into the 2nd top passing offence in the league. Sit back and enjoy the ride. 8)
Because this is a team sport, the one with more emphasis on team than, I believe, any other.
If it’s all on the QBs, then why just 7-5? (for the league’s MOP and, in the minds of most, its top QB, if not player period, again this season)
Not done adding to that win column… If the team can get healthy and build positive momentum heading to the playoffs Jones master plan will have been executed. You know there must be a master plan correct?
6 games left, all winable but how many will they win is the quetion. 5-1 or 4-2 is what they need coming down the stretch to be taken seriously. Winning in B.C. a tough barn to win in will hopefully get us started on the right foot closing out the season.
This is the 15th season with Bob Young owning the team. Aside from a small stretch of 2015, I don’t think this team has ever risen above mediocrity. Every season seems to fall somewhere between awful and mediocre.
The only real constant over the 15 years has been Bob, and Scott Mitchell (~11 years as president). Does Mitchell ever run any risk of getting canned, or is he too close to Young to ever face any consequences? I know the role of President entails a lot of off the field/business stuff, and Mitchell is heavily involved in other ventures (the soccer team), but after all these years of poor football you’d think the guy at the top would eventually feel the heat.
