WINNIPEG — If it wasn’t so serious you’d call it a case of indecent exposure.

A game where rules are regularly being changed to protect the safety of its players will be under added scrutiny when the B.C. Lions meet the Winnipeg Blue Bombers Thursday night in CFL action.

Helmets are popping off the heads of players with a regularity not evident in years, and many of the league’s sharper minds are at a loss for an explanation.

What started with an exchange of emails among equipment managers and memos from the league took a turn Wednesday when the group met on a conference call to discuss remedies.

“It’s a ticking time bomb,? CFL director of officiating Tom Higgins told the Calgary Herald.

This is a league wide problem, I have seen helmets coming off at least 3-4 times a game every game and it is only "when" not "if" someone is going to get seriously injured.
