Warren Moon's thoughts on Vince Young signing with Riders.

Mr. Moon, who is a football legend, says that Vince Young is a great athletic player with ability that fits perfectly for the league, that he is a winner, & that he thinks he will do very well with the Riders.

Crickets from the usual suspects. Not surprising.

Warren Moon was the best QB to play the CFL game.

He was always a class act.

He will say nice things about anybody and everybody.

Do you guys really want to start this up again. ?

Mods have shut this down twice.

Some Rider fans just can not let stuff go.

So we aren't allowed to discuss a ProFootball Hall of Fame CFL/NFL legend's opinion on a big name QB coming to the CFL?

And Moon couldn't still said nice things about Young without saying the highly positive things he said about his talent & how they are perfectly suited for the CFL game. I'll go out on a limb & say Moon was being honest. Classy guys usually are.

MIGS, my comment really had nothing to do about what Moon said or what you reported.

It was all about BCRF's cricket comment.

In Mod Lock thread # 2 he stated " you guys are the ones fired up about this for some reason"

Then plays the " cricket " card, like he was baiting .

That is a pure double standard.

Moon said the same thing about Adrian Mcpherson.

Adrian Mcpherson LOL!

Like Brihind88 said, Moon is a good guy who says positive things. His comments on Young mean a big fat NUTTIN! :cowboy:

NO, he was not.

For all the good that he was, the best he could be is second.

Actually 3rd. Flutie and Calvillo are ahead of Moon.

Do you actually believe Moon would say the opposite of that? Something like:

"Vince Young is an out of shape fatso, with no ability to play in the league. He is a LOSER, and will be crap with the Riders"

Sincerely,

Warren Moon

Do you think Moon would ever say that, even if that is what he thought? If you do, Johnny has 3 bridges to sell you... :cowboy:

Vince Young's NFL-CFL move a rarity, often unsuccessful for QBs

Since winning the BCS National Championship 10 years ago and being drafted third overall by the Tennessee Titans, Young has often made headlines for less pleasant reasons.

The following season, Young’s career with the Titans came to an end after he threw his shoulder pads into the crowd and had an argument with his head coach, Jeff Fisher.

In 2010, Young found himself in trouble following an altercation at Dallas strip-club.

In 2012, Young reportedly had money troubles due to spending habits including a $6,000 bill at T.G.I. Friday’s.

Two years ago, Young filed for bankruptcy despite earning millions during his playing career.

Former Texas Longhorn great Vince Young was arrested on Sunday for DWI.

I think its impossible to compare Young to other QB's that have come in the league.

1- He's got something like 60 NFL starts. When was the last time a QB came to the CFL with that ?

2- He's been out of football for SIX YEARS. I can think of two guys in similar circumstances. Akili Smith and Troy Smith,

I give him a 10 percent shot to be a starter and a 30 percent shot to be a backup for a year.

In regards to # 1. Might be Vince Ferragamo.

WELCOME BACK FYB.

Missed you. Now we just need to let Bungle back in and everything is right in the universe.

It is tough to compare QB's in different eras.

Debates can go on and on.

However, I will stick with my statement.

IMO, it is what the VY CFL career will be the result.

" big fat NUTTIN "

Are you talking about the McPherson has 2 Grey Cup rings?

Moon could still be polite & diplomatic if he felt Young didn't have it. In fact he went over & above & enthusiastically said Young is a winner & his athleticism is perfect for the CFL. Disappointing that you think he's a liar.

Yes, as a back up.

That's possible but I think I'll take the opinions of Jones, Murphy, Moon, & Jackson. You know, guys who actually know a thing or two about CFL football.

And? Do backup players get a ring with an asterisks on it? Mc Pherson had a distinguished NCAA stint at Florida St & a 12 year ProFootball career. Moon was way off base in giving him credit. Lol
