**WARREN MOON** HOF enshrinement today -

Warren Moon Pro Football Legend is getting his day starting at noon.

Enjoy!

Very well deserved. Congrats to him.

It's on NFL network for anyone who wants to watch. Long live REggie White RIP. Greatest Dlineman ever

Good on Warren for praising the fans in Edmonton. Said "for anyone who's never been there those are rabid fans who sold out every game"

I sincerely hope that all the nfl fans that pulled for Moon all those years, understand that THEY owe a HUGE thank you to the CFL!

He was never drafted because of his skin color. (plain and simple truth) And the ONLY league anywhere that gave him a chance was the CFL. So I guess you could say that the CFL provided the spring board to racial equality in the nfl that would never have happened for another ten years at least if not for Warren Moon!

Congrats to an incredible athlete and an even more so human being.

well deserved , but he wasn’t the first Black Q.B. I believe that was CHUCK EALEY [sp]

I know I've said this several times, and it still makes no sense to me even today, but I just can't comprehend that nobody in the NFL would draft Warren Moon in the year he was eligible for the NFL Draft. That year was 1978, and Warren Moon led the University of Washington Huskies to victory in the Rose Bowl over the University of Michigan, and he was named MVP of the game. I do believe geo365 when he says it was because he was black, which is shameful and makes me not proud at all to be an American.
As great a football player and quarterback as he was, he was an equally great human being, in fact I believe he was named Man of the Year in the NFL at least twice.
One final note to hellothere, I don't remember who was the first black quarterback in the NFL, but I do know that James Harris played for the Buffalo Bills and then started for the Los Angeles Rams in the late 1970's. Also Doug Williams started for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 1970's, before being traded to the Washington Redskins and leading them to a Super Bowl victory over the Denver Broncos in the 1980's.

2 hour 26 minute mark

Enjoyed watching him play in the CFL. And classy all the way thanking the CFL and the Eskies for giving him a chance to show himself. Classier than some of the fans on this site who trash the NFL all the time, a lot classier.

Congrat's Warren Moon. I'm glad the esks gave you a chance.

Never said he was the first now did I?

There was Sandy Stephens with Mtl in early 60s and black players in Canadian football decades before that.

But it's great that Moon went out of his way to say how much CFL meant to him.

Just like Flutie did at every opportunity.

Moon gave invites to Kepley, Kelly (I think) Campbell, Wilkinson and even Esks' long-time equipment guy. I don't if Kepley or equipment guy made it because Esks were playing in Vancouver night before. Wilky bowed out due to previous commitments.

Ditto for me, Moon was a great QB in both leagues.

Regarding "class" I think ALL players should shoot for the "Moon" from now on!

I agree geo365, and I second that thought because Warren Moon has always been about class and dignity. He deserves to be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
