Walk-off field goal gives REDBLACKS win over Stampeders

CALGARY — 999 days since his last victory in the CFL, Ottawa REDBLACKS quarterback Jeremiah Masoli got back to business on Thursday night in a back-and-forth affair with the Calgary Stampeders. In a dramatic game which included six lead changes, Lewis Ward’s last-second field goal on the game-winning drive meant that Ottawa would come out on top in a 31-29 road victory.

“On the first play from scrimmage, Calgary running back Peyton Logan coughed up the football, with Frankie Griffin coming away with the early fumble recovery. With a short field to work with on their first offensive possession, Ottawa settled for a 27-yard field goal from Lewis Ward to go up 3-0.”

That three points turned out to be the difference in this nail-biter.

Well done Ward… a 51 yard walk-off FG? Are you kidding me? And what a heroic comeback game that was for Jeremiah Masoli!!!

I may not be able to get to sleep tonight.

When will the league start fining Dave Dickinson for swearing on camera? He said, “F’ing Canadian refs” last year and got into trouble but this year, that’s 2 weeks in a row that he drops the F-Bomb to viewers on TSN. As a boss, he is grossly unprofessional. If any boss at my work would display that much emotion and rage, they would be fired. He cannot gain the respect of his players while displaying such foul emotions. The league should take corrective action against him.

Let’s face it, with the following record, he isn’t a top-notch coach:
-2024: 4-6
-2023: 6-12
-2022: 12-6
-2021: 8-6

That’s debatable. Players might respect him more for it. See Cody Fajardo’s speech ie FU just watch.

Cranky dave dickinson is our CFL sideline clown. TO CAMERA MEN—When there is a lull in the game focus on cranky dave. He puts a smile on my face. A true cranky boy---------Wonder why so many good players leave cowtown? Maybe a hug after a loss by an opposing ex team mate.
