Virtual Grey Cup Challenge, Weeks 8 & 9

Getting a bit of an early start this week because of the late game in Week 7.

This thread is for Weeks 8 and 9; each week consists of two games, so the two are being treated as one normal week. In order to be credited with a perfect week, you must pick all four games correctly.

You can make your picks for all four games at once, or one week at a time, which ever you prefer. I will post the standings after each week as usual.

I will get the Week 7 standings posted as soon as I can; as usual, they will be posted here.

Here are the games for Week 8:
Winnipeg @ Montreal
Hamilton @ Toronto

And here are the games for Week 9:
Calgary @ B.C.
Saskatchewan @ Edmonton

To join in, just start making picks. You can join in any time, but the later you join, the more difficult it will be to catch up.

To make your picks, reply to this post with your predicted winners. This is a straight-up win/loss pool; point spreads are not taken into account.

To be considered for any game, your pick for that game must be made PRIOR to the scheduled kickoff time. Even if your pick is made one minute late, or the kickoff is delayed, if it's after the scheduled kickoff time, it's late. No exceptions.

To change your picks, post another reply to the thread. Do NOT edit your original post. I may miss the change, or you may invalidate your picks.

While you're free to elaborate on your picks, your predicted winner must be clear at a glance. I don't want to have to read through a five-hundred word essay to figure out which team you're picking. More accurately, I won't.

Conditional picks are not allowed. That is, there is no "Winnipeg if Pierce plays, Edmonton if he doesn't." If you make a conditional pick, I will accept the first team named as your pick.

The complete rules are posted here.

Okay, I'm going to give this a shot now so I won't forget later.

Winnipeg @ Montreal: Montreal is just too good to pick them to lose at home. Als by a bunch.

Hamilton @ Toronto: With wins here and on Labour Day, the Cats can move into sole possession of second place and win the series against the Argos. Unfortunately, the Argos can say the same. Common sense says go with the home team, but the Cat offence is on fire. I may (or may not) be putting a serious streak on the line, but I'd rather put it on the line with Hamilton than with Toronto. Cats by 6.

Calgary @ B.C.: The Lions still haven't convinced me that they're capable of winning. Calgary is one of the league's top teams. Home field be damned. Stamps by two touchdowns.

Saskatchewan @ Edmonton: The Eskimos still haven't convinced me that they're capable of winning. Saskatchewan is one of the league's top teams. Home field be damned. Riders by two touchdowns.

Weeks 8 & 9 picks;

Winnipeg at Montreal - MONTREAL
Hamilton at Toronto - TORONTO
Calgary at B.C. Lions - CALGARY
Sask. at Edmonton - EDMONTON

Week 8:
Montreal
Hamilton

Week 9:
Calgary
Saskatchewan

Montreal - Montreal is still the class of the league
Hamilton - This will be a great game but Hamilton's offense is on fire!

B.C. - The Lions will NOT lose 7 in a row!
Edmonton - They're not that bad, just inconsistant

Montreal
Hamilton
Calgary
Saskatchewan

Week 8:

Winnipeg @ Montreal
This one could get ugly, mind you i think they can have quite the offence in the 'Peg with TJH, Edwards, Bowman, with Jyles throwing the pigskin. Montreal wins 41-24.

Hamilton @ Toronto
The rivalry is back, both of these teams are now playing good football. Glenn is on fire and has a bunch of recieving threats. You know AB III will want to put on a show against his former team. If Cobb can run like he did in the second half against the bombers, then look out because things won't be so one dimensional. Boyd is a beast though, early pick for MOP?
HAMILTON Tiger-Cats win 30-23.

Week 9:

Calgary @ B.C.
The stamps are playing good football, the lions not so much. Stamps win 27-13.

Saskatchewan @ Edmonton
UPSET ALERT! Just a gut feeling here. Eskies win 34-27.

Winnipeg @ Montreal
Hamilton @ Toronto

Calgary @ B.C.
Saskatchewan @ Edmonton
