Virtual Grey Cup Challenge, Week 4

Three weeks down. We should be getting a pretty good feel for all the teams now, and so far for the most part there is considerable parity.

The standings are posted here.

Here are the games for Week 4:
Hamilton @ Montreal
B.C. @ Toronto
Edmonton @ Winnipeg
Saskatchewan @ Calgary

To join in, just start making picks. You can join in any time, but the later you join, the more difficult it will be to catch up.

To make your picks, reply to this post with your predicted winners. This is a straight-up win/loss pool; point spreads are not taken into account.

To be considered for any game, your pick for that game must be made PRIOR to the scheduled kickoff time. Even if your pick is made one minute late, or the kickoff is delayed, if it's after the scheduled kickoff time, it's late. No exceptions.

To change your picks, post another reply to the thread. Do NOT edit your original post. I may miss the change, or you may invalidate your picks.

While you're free to elaborate on your picks, your predicted winner must be clear at a glance. I don't want to have to read through a five-hundred word essay to figure out which team you're picking. More accurately, I won't.

Conditional picks are not allowed. That is, there is no "Winnipeg if Pierce plays, Edmonton if he doesn't." If you make a conditional pick, I will accept the first team named as your pick.

The complete rules are posted here.

Hamilton @ Montreal: Hamilton has improved, and Montreal hasn't been playing all that well so far this year. But I'm not sure the Ticats are ready for Montreal just yet. I think it'll be closer than common sense would indicate, but the outcome will be the same, though I hope I'm wrong. Als by 6.

B.C. @ Toronto: The Argos aren't a 3-1 team. Lions by 4.

Edmonton @ Winnipeg: Is Pierce going to be able to play? If he does, I may be wrong, but I'm going with Edmonton to get their first victory. Esks by 2.

Saskatchewan @ Calgary: Last week I said the Riders are the best team in the CFL, and nothing has happened to change my opinion. Riders by 8.

Hamilton - Not entirely sure about this pick but anything can happen in the CFL
BC
Edmonton
Saskatchewan

Hamilton @ Montreal- Als will be pumped playing at home in the renovated stadium... I see a blowout this one.. Als by 14+

BC @ Toronto- Lemon didn't have his greatest game. but will bounce back... Lions are a mess.. Toronto by 10

Edmonton @ Winnipeg- the Bombers will bounce back from a mediocre performance.. Esks are still in self-destruct mode... Bombers by 6

Saskatchewan @ Calgary-- Riders had a bit of a sub-par perfomance last week, and will be better ... much to the chagrin of the Stamps... Riders by 10+

Nice to know im not alone at 3-9. Nice of you to join me in the basement Stamphater

Hamilton @ Montreal
I just have a feeling. Cats by 8!!!

B.C. @ Toronto
If Montreal couldn't score a TD against the lions, how will the argos? Lions by 6 in a game that has less than 25 points offensively.

Edmonton @ Winnipeg
Another long night for the Bomber secondary? I think so. Eskies by 10.

Saskatchewan @ Calgary
Saskatchewan is just a better team than Calgary, Riders by 13.

Road teams sweep! Yeah, there's a reason why im 3-9.

Montreal
Toronto
Winnipeg
Saskatchewan

That damned Wednesday game made me miss last week as I didn't get my picks in in time so I'm doing it early for week four.

Winners:

Hamilton
B.C.
Winnipeg
Saskatchewan

Finally, after getting shut out last year, a perfect week! If nothing else goes right this year, I'm satisfied. And I'm in a two-way tie for first place. But more important, I'm beating both my brothers in the standings. Take that, guys!

Hamilton - I'll take a chance. They looked good offensively, and decent on defense. Montreal has looked average all around. Normally I would still pick Montreal, but Hamilton seems to do well against them for some reason, so I'll risk it.

Toronto - I'm pretty sold on the Toronto defense, although the offense still has a lot of work to do. On the other hand, I just haven't been impressed at all by Printers and the BC Lions. Add home field advantage, and I've got to go with the double blue.

Edmonton - they've been getting some big numbers offensively, but just shooting themselves in the foot at the wrong time. I think next week they'll do enough to get the win. Not sure where the Bombers sit with their QB situation, either, but they've given up a lot of yards and points the last few weeks.

Saskatchewan - at this point, unless there's a compelling reason to change, go with them until they lose. They looked pretty bad this week, but still managed the win. They seem to have confidence and that never-give-up attitude that will take them a long way. Calgary still hasn't impressed me. Still, as a fan, I'm always worried.

Thanks, Big Dave. Here's to seeing my name still at the top next week... maybe even alone (what do you say, misterdean?)

My picks are

Montreal- There in there own stadium.
B.C.- If montreal had trouble beating them i dont think toronto can beat them.
Edmonton- I cant see them losing 4 games.
Saskatchwan- They are simply a better team then calgary.

Thanks Big Dave

Alouettes
Lions
Eskimos
Roughriders

Here goes it for week #4:

Hamilton at Montreal - MONTREAL
B.C. Lions at Toronto - TORONTO
Edmonton at Winnipeg - EDMONTON
Saskatchewan at Calgary - CALGARY

Hamilton @ Montreal
B.C. @ Toronto
Edmonton @ Winnipeg
Saskatchewan @ Calgary

Montreal
Toronto
Edmonton
Calgary

Thanks!

Here's adding to my perfect week 3 (hopefully!)

Montreal to win - because they are Montreal

Toronto - BC is not headed in the right direction

Winnipeg - because Edmonton keeps finding ways to lose

Saskatchewan - Now they have proven they can win ugly! Burris always brings his A game against the Riders, that makes me nervouse....these two teams played a couple of classics at mcMahon last year - lets hope for another barn-burner!

Montreal
Toronto
Winnipeg
Saskatchewan

Whoo Hoo! Jumped from 66th to 26th thanks to a Four and Oh this week, and back on the winning side of the column. Unfortunately, my momentum might be squelched by some tough picks this week. Hears to hoping for a 3-1 week this week....

Montreal - This will be the game of the week, Hamilton looked last week like the team everyone thought they were, but Montreal is at home and is still a powerhouse. This is a coin flip game, and should be exciting...

Toronto - Toronto is looking like a well coached, talented team this year but they're still learning, B.C. looks like bottom feeders this year but could surprise. Shouldn't be close but it could be....

Winnipeg - The question is, is Winnipeg bad, or did Hamilton make Winnipeg look bad? I'm betting on the latter, as well as Edmonton not turning it around anytime soon....

Saskatchewan - The only really easy pick, Calgary is a weak team but are saved by having B.C. and Edmonton in their division...

Montreal
Toronto
Winnipeg
Saskatchewan

Week 4:

Montreal
BC
Edmonton - better team than their record shows.
Saskatchewan.

Thanks Big Dave.

Hamilton @ Montreal - Hamilton
BC @ Toronto - Toronto
Edmonton @ Winnipeg - Winnipeg
Saskatchewan @ Calgary - Saskatchewan

Thanks Big Dave!
