Virtual Grey Cup Challenge, Week 20

Ottawa
B.C.
Hamilton
Saskatchewan

Week #20;

Well, I was doing fairly well, but a few mis-steps and I'm headed for an early rest. Here's my picks for this week;

Ottawa vs Toronto; Toronto - would love to pick Ottawa, but Toronto has the tools and should win this one. Toronto by 3.

Calgary vs B.C.; Calgary - This could honestly go either way, but with the shelter of BC place, Calgary's offense should be firing on all cylinders again. Calgary by 10.

Montreal vs Hamilton; Montreal - Who wouldda thunk that the fourth string QB for Edmonton would lead the Als to the Playoffs? Gotta go with the hot hand here. Als by 10.

Edmonton vs Saskatchewan; Edmonton - This is all about Defensive play and Offensive lines. Edmonton has a strong Defense and the Riders can't protect their QB. As of this writing they are still hinting that Durrant is coming back for this game ... if that's true and their O-line plays like it has been, KJ and Durrant may both go home in ambulances - Durrant because he's not 100% (I don't believe he is) and KJ because of the pounding he's been taking these past few weeks (remember how much time he spent getting looked at on the side lines in the Calgary game?) and the pounding he'll get in this game. Hope they don't get hurt, but ... Edmonton by 10.

Thanks Big Dave for doing this for us this year. Congrats to all those going on to the playoffs. I look forward to next year's competition.

TORONTO, B.C., HAMILTON, EDMONTON :rockin:

While I’m now mathematically eliminated, for the first time in many weeks, I can now see myself AND the leaders on the same page. Nice!

:(

Anyway, for my final kick at the, ummm, let’s rephrase that, for my final picks for the 2014 season:

Ottawa @ Toronto - While I am desperately hoping that the Redblacks kick the Argos’ butts this Friday, eliminating them from the playoffs and guaranteeing the Ticats a spot, I don’t know if it’ll happen, even if ray isn’t ready to play.

Calgary @ B.C. - Not sure what happened last week, but I can’t see the Stamps letting it happen twice. I’m sure the weather had something to do with it, something they won’t have to worry about in the Lions’ home. Cornish being out raises some concern, but I don’t see it causing them to lose a second in a row.

Montreal @ Hamilton - The Ticats will (probably, depending on Friday’s game) have more at risk in this game than the Als, who have the already locked up a spot in the playoffs. I can definitely see them winning this game, keeping their THF record intact. Can they win by 8 to grab first place? That would be sweet.

Edmonton @ Saskatchewan - Even if Durant is back, he’ll be a bit rusty. I don’t see the Riders beating the Eskimos, even at home, and even with Nichols taking the snaps.

Ottawa @Toronto - Argos are half the team they usually are without Ray.
Calgary @BC - Last year Stamps visited the dome in the final week with first place all sewn up and nothing to play for, sat a bunch of guys and handed the Lions a 26-7 win. Ditto this year.
Montreal @Hamilton - Als have better defense, better run game, better coaching. They just better. They nail down first place and a bye.
Edmonton @Saskatchewan - Sask wins because this is Edmonton's bye week.
