Virtual Grey Cup Challenge, Week 19

Well, we're going into the final week of the regular season. Sad, in a way, and also exciting, because playoff football is usually the best football of the year. The Week 18 standings are now posted here.

You all know the rules by now. If you want to look them over, they're posted here.

Here are the games for Week 19:
Hamilton @ Toronto
Calgary @ Edmonton
Montreal @ Winnipeg
Saskatchewan @ B.C.

Good luck!

I'm not mathmatically eliminated, but I will need lots of help to make it... my picks for week 19:

Toronto
Edmonton
Montreal
Saskatchewan

Montreal @ Winnipeg
Saskatchewan @ B.C.

First time participating

Well, making my picks, because that's what I do. It would take a perfect week by me and an 0-4 week by a whole lot of people for me to even get close to a post-season spot. But, as I said, it's what I do.
The last week is kind of hard, because with so much already decided, it's hard to say how much some teams will risk for a game that is meaningless to them. We all know a lot of players will sit out this week, but who? And how well will their backups play? It's almost like trying to pick games in Week 1.

Hamilton @ Toronto: The Ticats have put together two straight games, where they played well enough to win, and in bad weather. Now under the dome they're facing the Argos, who have nothing to gain. Hamilton needs it more, and I believe that'll be the difference. Cats by 9 (winning the series, and the Ballard Cup!)

Calgary @ Edmonton: Okay, so lets say Calgary does sit their starting QB. All they'll have is DREW TATE. They won't miss a step. Stamps by 4, eliminating Edmonton from the playoffs.

Montreal @ Winnipeg: Montreal is better. Als by 6.

Saskatchewan @ B.C.: B.C. under the dome, with nothing to play for but prepping for the West Final. The Riders by this time will know they're going to Calgary next week. Pure talent puts B.C. over the top. Lions by 3.

Hamilton at Toronto - TORONTO
Calgary at Edmonton - EDMONTON
Montreal at Winnipeg - WINNIPEG
Roughriders at Lions - SASKATCHEWAN

1-3 yet again; it’s the wooden spoon for me.

Week 19:
Hamilton 8)
Calgary
Montreal
B.C.

Well here it is, the last week I have a chance to make it back to .500. I have to go 4-0 but perhaps this is the week to do it. Currently sit in 47th spot up 2 from last week despite going 2-2, hopefully I can still crack the top 40...

Hamilton - Lock of the week. No Ricky Ray for Toronto and this will probably be a laugher...

Calgary - Can the double headed monster of Glenn/Tate beat the triple headed monster of mediocrity that is Edmonton quarterbacking? Well duh....

Montreal - One gets the feeling the Bombers are going to be nothing more than practice tackling dummies for Alouettes this week.

B.C. - The real tough one. B.C. looked horrible last week, but Saskatchewan lost to Toronto last week, at home no less. Seems even less likely they win on the road, especially since they will have third sown up by game time...

Great year of football! Great VGCC, too!!!! Good luck to all the top 8 finishers, of which, I dont think I will be! THanks again Dave, your efforts are appreciated!

Week 19:

Hamilton @ Toronto - Fighting for their playoff lives, they should come out fired up!
Calgary @ Edmonton - Calgary has OWNED the Esks this year!
Montreal @ Winnipeg - Bombers say goodby to (Winnipeg) Canadinns Stadium in style, while Montreal rests all its starters (all except AC, he never takes a day off!)
Saskatchewan @ B.C. - Saskatchewan parks itself in the playoff, completely in reverse!

Another coin flip week, but at least my two correct picks meant Hamilton still has a shot at the playoffs. Unlike me here. But I do have a chance to make it over .500 with a perfect week. Like that's going to happen.

Anyway, here are my picks for the week (totally ignoring my power ranking spreadsheet for the first game):

  • Hamilton over Toronto - I gotta believe.
  • Calgary over Edmonton - Ditto. Plus I think Calgary is just better, even with Tate in for Glenn, although I'm a bit nervous about that Nichols guy.
  • Montreal over Winnipeg - D'uh.
  • BC over Saskatchewan - Like it matters.

Hamilton
Calgary
Winnipeg
BC

Thanks!

lately I've had better luck picking the losers then winners so this week I will pick every team that I think will lose and see how I do
Hamilton
Calgary
Winnipeg
Saskatchewan

Cannot believe that this is the final weekend of the regular season. I'm real excited for the playoffs but sad that we have far less football ahead of us as we do behind us for 2012. Its been a heck of a season.

My picks for the regular season finale:

Hamilton @ Toronto: Hamilton - we saw what Hamilton is capable of when playing inspired football this past weekend. They have a lot on the line coming into this week. With a win an a little luck they could find themselves back in T.Dot on November 11th.

Calgary @ Edmonton: Calgary

Montreal @ Winnipeg: Montreal

Sask @ BC: BC Last game for the Lions until the 18th. Even though there's nothing on the line they'll be looking to redeem themselves after last weeks ass kicking from the Stampeders. Lulay should be back on the field and our D doesn't play badly 2 games in a row.
