The Week 16 standings are now posted here.
Only 3 weeks left in the regular season. Don't forget only the top 8 will qualify for the post-season, so you may want to start thinking about making your picks accordingly.
For those new to the forum, here's a rundown of the rules:
To join in, just start making picks.
Reply to this thread with your picks for the games. You're encouraged to elaborate, but only the predicted winners are taken into account, and your picks must be clear at a glance without having to read a big long post. There are no conditional picks allowed.
Picks must be in by the scheduled kickoff time, or they will not be counted.
To change your picks, post a new message to the thread. Do not edit your original post.
The complete rules are posted here.
Here are the games for Week 17:
Winnipeg @ Toronto
Edmonton @ B.C.
Montreal @ Saskatchewan
Hamilton @ Calgary
Winnipeg @ Toronto: I don't know what to hope for this week. A Winnipeg win will drop Hamilton into fourth. A Toronto win will all but mathematically eliminate Hamilton from the race for 2nd-place, and, well, it's a Toronto win. Ricky Ray may be back this week, and the Bombers won't have home field advantage. Gotta go with the odds here. Argos by 6.
Edmonton @ B.C.: Nothing I say can change the fact that B.C. is just too good. Lions by 11.
Montreal @ Saskatchewan: Montreal has been very beatable this season, but the Riders haven't been any better. Still, Montreal is usually a reasonable bet. Als by 4.
Hamilton @ Calgary: I really hope I'm wrong here. But Hamilton on the road is putrid, and Calgary is 5-2 at home. Stamps by 8.
I really hope I'm wrong on the last one, and an Argo loss would be nice. Nevertheless, these are my picks.
Well, so much for my 50-50 ranking. And if I had followed the advice of my power ranking spreadsheet, I would have been 3-1 last week instead of 1-3. So this week, I'm going with it.
My week 17 picks:
Toronto over Winnipeg - Could easily go the other way, but Winnipeg still isn't consistent enough (not that Toronto is either). Plus Winnipeg's road record is, well, as bad as Hamilton's.
BC over Edmonton - Edmonton has been playing well lately, but BC is still better.
Saskatchewan over Montreal - This one could go either way, but home field should take this one.
Winnipeg @ Toronto
Edmonton @ B.C. Montreal @ Saskatchewan
Hamilton @ Calgary
Toronto over Winnipeg is pretty self-explanatory.
Edmonton's been on a role, but beating B.C. at home is a tall task.
Montreal/Saskatchewan always have great games; could go either way, but I'm gonna be a homer and pick Montreal.
Hamilton/Calgary is gonna be that weird game that Hamilton could win, but I gotta go with Calgary.
