Virtual Grey Cup Challenge, Week 13

On the whole not a great week last week, as the first few games took most of the VGCC World by surprise. Still, this gave some people a great opportunity to move up the standings, which are posted here.

Some extra excitement this week as Edmonton and Toronto will be playing in Moncton, for the first regular-season CFL game in the Maritimes. Looking forward to getting a look at that!

Here are the games for Week 13:
Montreal @ Winnipeg
Saskatchewan @ Hamilton
B.C. @ Calgary
Edmonton @ Toronto

To join in, just start making picks. You can join in any time, but the later you join, the more difficult it will be to catch up.

To make your picks, reply to this post with your predicted winners. This is a straight-up win/loss pool; point spreads are not taken into account.

To be considered for any game, your pick for that game must be made PRIOR to the scheduled kickoff time. Even if your pick is made one minute late, or the kickoff is delayed, if it's after the scheduled kickoff time, it's late. No exceptions.

To change your picks, post another reply to the thread. Do NOT edit your original post. I may miss the change, or you may invalidate your picks.

While you're free to elaborate on your picks, your predicted winner must be clear at a glance. I don't want to have to read through a five-hundred word essay to figure out which team you're picking. More accurately, I won't.

Conditional picks are not allowed. That is, there is no "Winnipeg if Pierce plays, Edmonton if he doesn't." If you make a conditional pick, I will accept the first team named as your pick.

The complete rules are posted here.

Montreal @ Winnipeg: Winnipeg wants this one more.
Saskatchewan @ Hamilton: Could be a shootout, but I'll give the Cats the edge in their own barn.
B.C. @ Calgary: Bad time for the Lions to visit McMahon Stadium, following a Calgary loss in which the D uncharacteristically got torched by Durant & co. I'll be surprised if this game isn't over by halftime.
Edmonton @ Toronto: No home-field advantage for the Boatmen since the game's in Moncton. Somehow, the Eskimos find a way to snap a three-game losing streak.

Montreal-To good of a team for winnipeg.
Saskatchewan-Is pumped about beating calgary.
Calgary-Looking for a win from last weeks loss.
Toronto-Tuffest pick but ill go with toronto.

Thanks :rockin:

Okay, gradually working my way back up the standings. Had I gone with my gut and picked the Riders last week, I'd be right in the thick of the race. Still, I'm not far off, and will have to inch my way toward the top of the standings little by little.

Anyway, here goes:
Montreal @ Winnipeg: Winnipeg is 3-2 at home, and Montreal is 3-2 on the road. But now that Calvillo is back, it really wouldn't make sense to pick one of the have-nots to beat them. Als by 13.

Saskatchewan @ Hamilton: As good a team as the Riders are at home, they are equally bad away from Mosaic Stadium. Hamilton has won 5 of their last 6, and with a home-and-home series against the league's worst team coming up, would probably welcome the challenge. Cats by 6.

B.C. @ Calgary: Home field has been unkind to BC: Calgary has actually won more games at Empire Field than the Lions have. So getting out of there would be a welcome change of scenery...if they weren't playing at McMahon Stadium where Calgary is 5-0. Huf's crew is just too good for Printers and his late-game collapses. Stamps by 19.

Edmonton @ Toronto: I want to be wrong, I really do. I'm tired of the Argos being tied with the Cats for second place. But Edmonton has been terrible this season, and I can't pick them to win. Maybe the sea air will invigorate them in some way; I can only hope. Argos by 4.

Montreal - Need I say why?
Hamilton - for many reasons. We've won 5 of our last 6, we're at home, we're mega pumped after winning a game we should've lost, Stevie Baggs makes his debut and McIntyre returns. There may be a ton of Rider fans at IWS but like last year they'll be leaving disappointed
Calgary - Printers proved he's not back to and likely never will return to the 2004 Printers. He's stuck on Casey in his Ticat days.
Edmonton - Sorry Toronto, I still think the Argo's suck and I think this is the week Ray and crew get tired of losing.

c'mon 4-0!
