Here are the games for Week 12:
Calgary @ Saskatchewan
Hamilton @ B.C.
Winnipeg @ Toronto
Edmonton @ Montreal
To join in, just start making picks. You can join in any time, but the later you join, the more difficult it will be to catch up.
To make your picks, reply to this post with your predicted winners. This is a straight-up win/loss pool; point spreads are not taken into account.
To be considered for any game, your pick for that game must be made PRIOR to the scheduled kickoff time. Even if your pick is made one minute late, or the kickoff is delayed, if it's after the scheduled kickoff time, it's late. No exceptions.
To change your picks, post another reply to the thread. Do NOT edit your original post. I may miss the change, or you may invalidate your picks.
While you're free to elaborate on your picks, your predicted winner must be clear at a glance. I don't want to have to read through a five-hundred word essay to figure out which team you're picking. More accurately, I won't.
Conditional picks are not allowed. That is, there is no "Winnipeg if Pierce plays, Edmonton if he doesn't." If you make a conditional pick, I will accept the first team named as your pick.
Wow! Who'd have thought a 1-3 week would drop me so far down the standings? Time to catch up.
Calgary @ Saskatchewan: Boy, I'm tempted to pick the Riders. Calgary will eventually lose again, and a game at Mosaic Stadium seems just the place. But when a team scores only two points against the Bombers, it's hard to justify picking them to beat the best team in the CFL. Stamps by 8.
Hamilton @ B.C.: Did Hamilton's loss mean that they're not that good, or that the AC-less Als aren't that bad? Did B.C.'s win against Toronto mean that the Lions aren't that bad, or that the Argos aren't that good? In both cases, I choose to pick the latter. The night game (thanks again schedule-makers!) gives the Lions the edge, but that wasn't enough to help them last year, and I don't think it'll be enough this year. Cats by 4.
Winnipeg @ Toronto: This game could be big, as a Bomber win would bring them one game out of third place. Beating the Riders was a big boost, but they won't have the crowd on their side in this one. Toronto will be looking to end their 3-game losing streak, and who better to do it against than the Eastern doormats? Argos by 6.
Edmonton @ Montreal: With or without AC, Montreal can win games. Edmonton can't seem to win no matter what they do. Throw in the fact that the game is in Montreal, and the Esks are in for a world of hurt. Als by 20.
Calgary @ Saskatchewan - Logic says the Stamps should roll over Saskatchewan, but I refuse to believe the Riders' offense is as poor as last week's display against Winnipeg. Also, it's never wise to bet against Gang Green at Mosaic.
Hamilton @ B.C. - Lions are on a roll, playing at home. Hamilton is going to find the BC's front four very tough to contain.
Winnipeg @ Toronto - Winnipeg is playing with confidence right now, while the Argos are really starting to miss Jermaine Copeland and may be without their top offensive weapon (Cory Boyd) to boot.
Edmonton @ Montreal - This game will be a lot closer than people think, as Ricky Ray always plays Montreal tough, but the Als will be eager to erase the memory of getting walloped by the Lions at home.
