To join in, start making picks. New participants may join up until the Labour Day games.
Each week, reply to the VGCC thread with your picks for the winners.
If you elaborate, make your picks clear at a glance.
Picks must be in PRIOR TO the SCHEDULED KICKOFF TIME in order to qualify for that game.
To change your picks, post a new reply to the thread. Editing your original thread may invalidate all your picks.
At the end of each week, participants will be ranked based on the number of correct picks, followed by most perfect weeks, then highest aggregate spread (the total of the point spreads of all games picked correctly MINUS the total of the point spreads of all games picked incorrectly), and lastly highest percentage correct. Ties will be broken according to participants' peformance in the most recent week.
The complete rules are posted here.
Now for Week 10. Toronto has the bye this week.
B.C. @ Ottawa
Winnipeg @ Montreal
Saskatchewan @ Edmonton
Hamilton @ Calgary
All lopsided games last week. That’s fine if, like me, your team won ( :rockin: ) but for everyone else…UGH! I’ve been on the other end, and I know it’s not fun. Hopefully next week’s games are a lot more entertaining.
B.C. @ Ottawa: Two good teams; going with the visitors. Lions by 6.
Winnipeg @ Montreal: I think Winnipeg has shown they’re for real. Bombers by 8.
Saskatchewan @ Edmonton: Riders won’t be able to win this. Esks by a hundred.
Hamilton @ Calgary: Homer pick; going with the visitors; gotta go against the grain to move up the list. Cats by 4.
Ottawa No way they lose two in a row at home Montreal The Als played to their potential I will go on a limb here and pick them Edmonton Well this is easy much like the Staples easy button they are playing the riders. Calgary This could be a very good game just hope Calgary remembers to play a full game
Ottawa - Trevor Harris gets the start this week and motivates them at home
Montreal - the Als impressive against Ottawa
Edmonton - no way the Esks lose this one
Calgary - Stamps at home
Damn , I dropped 6 spots down to 30 after a 2-2 week. Week 10 and I'm still looking for that elusive perfect 4-0 oh well here goes nothing with this weeks pick :
B.C. @ OTTAWA.............tough pick on this one but with the announcement of Harris replacing Humble Hank at qb I now have to opt for the TWOCOLOURS for the win after initially leaning towards the Lions earlier on........RB's win by 7
Winnipeg @ MONTREAL......yet another tough pick here but I think that the Al's are more likely to win 2 in a row as opposed to those B.B's winning 4 in a row..........Alouettes win by 4
Saskatchewan @ EDMONTON.........this one is not a tough pick at all , in fact it's the free space on the bingo card game of the week. The Eskimos should cruise in this one and crush these Riders easily without much effort at all...........Eskimos win by 100
HAMILTON @Calgary.........back to another tough pick here to finish out the week. Calgary has been Austin's nemesis since joining the Cats and is the only team that he hasn't defeated as HC while in Hamilton. These two always seem to play close games usually decided by 4 pts or less well this time it will once again be close but finally the Cats come out on top for a change............Ti-Cats win by 3
That's it , that's all Folks !!! Good Luck as usual to one in all in yer picks for this weeks games.
Well, a nice 3-1 week moved me up 4 spots to 5th. This week, however, is full of potential problems as three of the games could go either way. Make or break for me staying in the top 10....
Ottawa - I'm glad the announcement for the RubyGlooms starting QB came before I made my pick. I have a rule not to second guess picks and change them after I made them, and this week I was ready to pick the Lions despite some real bad play on their part over the course of their last six quarters only because Burris has been worse and they just got blown out by the freakin' Alouttes. Pick'em confidence level 0%
Winnipeg - Montreal did beat the Bombers in Week one, but that was when Drew Willy was QB. Now that Matt Nichols is leading the Blue and Gold, they seemed to have turned the team around, while the Larks are still the Larks. I chalk up the last game against Ottawa as an aberration. Pick'em confidence level 25%
Edmonton - Yeah, this is pretty much a sure thing. Pick'em confidence level 100%
Calgary - Sure He. Is. Back. but He (scarily enough) still shows some rust. However in the last five games between Stampeders and Ticats have been really close, won by the Stamps in the last minute on some bit of flukiness. Can it happen again? Pick'em confidence level 0%
