Virtual Grey Cup Challenge, Week 10

LABOUR DAY WEEKEND!! The second half of the season; when the air gets a little crisper and the notion of sitting in a crowded stadium on a sunny afternoon doesn't seem quite so insane.

The standings are posted here. If the old standings show up, click your browser's REFRESH button, and you should see the current ones.

Here are the games for Week 10:
B.C. @ Toronto
Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan
Montreal @ Hamilton
Edmonton @ Calgary

To join in, just start making picks. You can join in at any time, though the later in the season you join, the harder it will be to catch up.

To make your picks, reply to this post with your predicted winners. This is a straight-up win/loss pool; point spreads are not taken into account.

To be considered for any game, your pick for that game must be made PRIOR to the scheduled kickoff time. Even if your pick is made one minute late, or the kickoff is delayed, if it's after the scheduled kickoff time, it's late. No exceptions.

To change your picks, post another reply to the thread. Do NOT edit your original post. I may miss the change, or you may invalidate your picks.

While you're free to elaborate on your picks, your predicted winner must be clear at a glance. I don't want to have to read through a five-hundred word essay to figure out which team you're picking. More accurately, I won't.

Conditional picks are not allowed. That is, there is no "Calgary if Burris plays, Edmonton if he doesn't." If you make a conditional pick, I will accept the first team named as your pick.

The complete rules are posted here.

Okay, now I mean business. 2-2 during the bye weeks was not good enough to hold on to my place in the standings, so I'll have to make some advances this week.

B.C. @ Toronto: I think B.C. is improving more than Toronto is. Lions by 5.
Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan: Even at home, Riders don't stand a chance. Bombers by 11.
Montreal @ Hamilton: Hamilton played a close one in Winnipeg, and they usually play better on Labour Day. Cats in a squeaker.
Edmonton @ Calgary: Edmonton is getting some of their injured receivers back, but will have a tough one in Calgary. Stamps by 6.

Way to go papazoola and DAN38! Three Bomber fans in the top 7! Of course, having our favourite team go 7-1 sure doesn’t hurt. :rockin:

For this week:
B.C. @ Toronto - Lions seem to be getting it together, they’re the class of the bottom 3.
Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan - should be an easy pick, but Sask is an unknown quantity now with Miller back.
Montreal @ Hamilton - two inconsistent teams, but Cats have shown they can do this and they’re at home.
Edmonton @ Calgary - two teams headed in opposite directions right now.

And thanks very much for doing this Big Dave. It boggles the mind.

Week 10;

B.C. Lions at Toronto - TORONTO
Winnipeg at Roughriders - SASKATCHEWAN
Montreal at Hamilton - MONTREAL

B.C. @ Toronto: Toronto's veterans on D will have a big game against a relatively inexperienced Lulay.

Winnipeg @ Saskatchewan: Winnipeg will lose eventually. Just not this week.

Montreal @ Hamilton: The Als are playing their second consecutive game on the road, missing 60% of their starting defensive secondary (Brown, Boulay/Brouillette, Estelle) and with possible injuries to their star rush end (Bowman) and middle linebacker (Emry).

Edmonton @ Calgary: The Stampeders know how to win close games, and they're at home.
